Lucas Biglia will be sidelined for a very long time after undergoing surgery.

Milan have been very unlucky with injuries this season and after losing Mattia Caldara for an extended period of time, today it was confirmed that Biglia will also be missing a few months of action.

“The injury, suffered by Biglia last Wednesday during the morning training session, involved the lesion of the myotendinous junction (MTJ) of the medial segment of the right calf that required surgery,” a statement on Milan’s website reads.

“The operation, carried out today in Finland by Professor Sakari Orava in the presence of the Team’s doctor, Stefano Mazzoni, was successful. Full healing will take four months.” This is a very tough blow for Gennaro Gattuso as the 32-year-old regista was a consistent starter in this campaign.

It is therefore likely that Milan will act on the January transfer market to get another midfielder (in addition to Lucas Paquetá) to replace Biglia. Zenit’s Leandro Paredes is believed to be a top target.

  1. It’s not easy to keep changing formations, players, positions, tactics… These injuries are the worst

  2. LIKE I SAID, most of the injuries in past 2-3 years come from training sessions so its either the coaches and physical trainers are very bad at doing their actual jobs or those pro players/athletes are simply tired beyond belief due to thight schedules and/or stupid decisions from the coach to play them when theyre not ready. And biglia did say in his post match interviews that his feet didnt feel so good during and after games so i think its on rino. For gods sake rino played injured cutrone that one time.
Yet another reason to sack him. Hey boys higher up, do it before i fully lose my patience.
