Pepe Reina believes ‘this team can do well, it is not all darkness’ after Milan suffered another defeat.

The past week has been a prolonged nightmare for Milan as after suffering a defeat in the Derby della Madonnina, they also lost 2-1 to Real Betis at San Siro.

The Rossoneri were looking to ‘bounce back’ from the bad game against Inter but the boys of Gattuso produced a performance not worthy of the name Milan. Betis were far better in every aspect and the Diavolo deserved nothing but defeat.

“Betis pass the ball very well and at times it makes you irritated as an opponent, but we have to read the situations better and have the humility to know how to suffer and hang in there,” Reina, who was partially to blame for Betis’ first goal, told Sky Italia. “I compliment Betis, because they are a good team, but we have to watch this game over again and learn from our mistakes.

“The goal conceded? This is our profession, at times there are errors, but the important thing is to get back on our feet and learn from them. The dressing room? We have no intention of seeking out people to blame. We must be cool-headed, try to learn from our mistakes and move forward.

“Trust in Gattuso? Absolutely yes. There’s absolute confidence in the coach, now more than before. This team can do well, it’s not all darkness. We must be calm and evaluate things cool headed.”

  1. To me I just have this horrible feeling that Milan will surely thrive with this squad with some few additions…but Gattuso needs to ginger d players on how to get back d ball from their opponents…now all teams know Milan wants to start from back and they’re already there to mark our players out in our own box

  2. they really need to stop playing from the back. it is great at times and especially when you are 2-3 goals up but to do it 24/7 is taking the piss. we are not the best, we are not top 4 and we dont even have 5 good players that can justify us doing it. so please mix it up and stop being so predictable.
    4-2-3-1 for sunday.
i would bench higuain and start with cutrone with Calhanoglu behind him and suzo and bonna on either side with kessi and biglia [if fully fit] in the holding position.
