Tiémoué Bakayoko says the game against Real Betis will not be easy and claims the old Baka can still return.
Bakayoko arrived in the summer on loan from Chelsea but has been largely unimpressive so far. Tomorrow, however, he can get a new chance as Milan take on Real Betis at Stadio San Siro (18:55 CEST).
Tiémoué sat alongside Rino Gattuso today at Milanello to speak ahead of the game.
“It will be a tough game, Real Betis are a fine team and play good football. It’s important to win to put three more points in the bag for the qualification,” said the 24-year-old Frenchman, who according to a report from NonEvoluto today, is ‘close’ to joining Olympique de Marseille, perhaps already in January.
“The derby? Losing at the last minute is never easy to digest, we are disappointed. The defeat is part of football. We are professional players and we’re all focused and motivated now for tomorrow’s game. My time? I’ve been very well received. It’s a good group and my integration has gone very well.
“I’m trying to adapt the way I play. The best of me has yet to come and it’d be better to play a bit more, but I’m already seeing improvements. The Bakayoko of Monaco? Many years have gone by since then, many things have changed, [Serie A] is a different football, a different league.
“I’m trying to give my best, with time you’ll see the Bakayoko you talk about.”
