Ricky Kaká is looking forward to the derby and says people should stop comparing Lucas Paquetá with others.
The Derby della Madonnina takes place next Sunday and today Kaka spoke to MilanTV to discuss the game, but also to discuss Lucas Paquetá, who will be joining the Rossoneri in January from Flamengo.
“The derby is a very special game and the atmosphere that is there during the game is unique,” the Brazilian said. “I was very lucky, because my first goal with the Milan shirt was against Inter, with my head, which wasn’t my best quality.
“Then there were a lot of other derbies, also in the Champions League. It’s a match that means a lot. The derby gives you a lot. The coach doesn’t need to do much to motivate a team, there is the supremacy in the city and it’s already a great motivation. If it’s Gonzalo Higuain-Mauro Icardi on Sunday? It’s Milan-Inter. Of course, they can decide the game at any time.
“Paquetá? He is a player with a bright future ahead of him. He has already called up by the Brazilian national team but it’s better for him not to make comparisons, because I’ve seen many comparisons these days with me, with Pato, with Ronaldinho, Cafu, Rivaldo and all the Brazilian who have been a part of the history of Milan. We must avoid these comparisons, not only with me, to make sure that he can arrive and play calmly. I hope very much that he’ll do well and I’m very confident.

“An agreement with Milan for the future? I spoke with Leonardo and Paolo Maldini. Right now I’m closer to Milan. For now it’s just that. My priority is still being close to my family, to Luca and Isabella who are 10 and 7 years old. I talk a lot with Leo, to try to understand how to be a director.
“I’m doing a course in Brazil. I hope to one day work at Milan as a sporting director but there is nothing definite at the moment.”
Spain is down 3-0 at half time so Suso will most def come on in the 2nd half, hope he doesn’t pick up an injury.
Any thoughts on that Sandro Tonali so-called New Pirlo kid? His agent said he’s a Milan fan so we are in pole position to sign him. A midfield of Tonali, Paqueta and Barella would set us up for the next decade.
Maldini is really fond of Tonali. Think he will come next summer
If we get him, I hope we send him back on loan immediately and let him grow.
Yeah, precisely. It’s the right thing to do for bright prospects as 1.the selling team will be more eager/less reluctant to sell because they know they will still have the player for a while and 2.the player will have enough time and calmness to mature and develop his abilities in an environment where he has grown.
No wonder Juve do it all the time.
i just saw tonali in youtube. For me he is the perfect biglia’s vice, if we consider another name with more experience than him then we should go for paredes. everyone must be remembered his time at roma and also at empoli. he is familliar with serie a, perfect when controlling the tempo, has a vision and not afraid to pass forward.
Mirabelli: “Gattuso was seen from everyone as only grinta but actually he is an innovative coach. He is one of the best coaches in the world, he is underrated. Milan play great football, the second best behind Napoli.”
Let’s see if he can justify this high praise on Sunday.
No serious football fan should take mirabelli’s words seriously. Ever.
@Milan10 Please justify yo comment. Unlike most Milan fans I have a high regard for Mirabelli, he only made one wrong purchase, Kalinic – but Diego Someone who’s one of the highly regarded coaches in Europe see’s some value in him so he can’t be that useless. For context this is what Mirabelli said in Feb this year, and he’s being proven to be correct with every passing game in La Liga: Mirabelli told RMC: “Silva is not giving what we expected, we are sure to have a footballer who will in the future be among the world’s best forwards.… Read more »
Truee, Fassone always looked shady but Mirabelli was more respectable.
Ur so gullible. Fassobelli appointed rino (and morontella), of course he’ll defend rino by saying all those unrealistic crap even though the cold hard fact is rino started with milan outside top 4 and he STILL ends up outside top 4. What else is he supposed to say? “Yes i messed up royally by appointing garbage unlike inter which leapfrogged milan simply by having better coach and transfer policy, i shouldve gone all out for sarri or someone else at his level”? He messed up at mercato even though he had 200m to play with; kalinic, borini, bonucci, donnarumma bro… Read more »
@Milan10
Gullible? How about Marcelo Lippi and Capello? They also have high praise for Gattuso.
You specialize in twisting facts, Gattuso collected the 3rd most points during hus tenure – if it was not for that completely avoidable loss to Benvento or whatever they’r called, his point tally would have been 2nd after Juve.
Here are FACHTS: – milan before rino : europa league, outside top 4 in serie a – milan with rino at the helm: europa league (rino agreed with clown who said the group milan is in is ucl worthy btw), outside top 4 in serie a. – inter before spalletti : even worse than milan. – inter with spalletti : top 4, qf for ucl. – napoli with sarri : ucl, scudetto contender. – napoli with ance (another proven winner) : STILL scudetto contender. – parma, madrid, chelsea AND juve with ance: scudetto contenders, ucl. – chelsea with sarri :… Read more »
@Milan10, yeah but at least those guys have all had a full season. What has Rino done which warrants a sacking? Surely the third most points collected after he took over, only behind Napoli and Juve is worth keeping? Let’s at least give him a full season before we call him a winner or a loser. Yeah I know you dont wanna wait anymore and we’ve given a lot of people a chance, but Rino is here now, he is aware of the problems and he is doing what he can to fix them. How can we not support him… Read more »
Rino has had almost a full calendar year and he’s still outside top 4. Thats FACHT. Is he better than inzaghi, broccoli, morontella, miha? He might very well be but thats not saying much is it? I see clubs like juve, napoli, madrid, barca, epl top 6 week in week out and milan are nothing like them. All those teams could crush milan 4-0 when something is on the line, like juve did in coppa final. Put it this way, roma has been playing well under di francesco but still they want conte as an upgrade. Thats ambition, thats why… Read more »
Oh and ance took milan to ucl as caretaker replacing terim in 01/02. See? It didnt take good coach a full calendar year to take their clubs to ucl, unlike rino. This “milan” dont play as well as milan of allegri or even leo even though >300m has been invested in 3 years. Thats another FACHT. Something is very wrong with the coaching and mgmt because a team with maradona of gk, bonucci, biglia, messie, hakan, silva, pipita should always play to win scudetto
@Milan10, yes, but you aren’t taking some things into account here – for example the incredibly bad shape we were in before Rino took over. It’s not like Montella got sacked when he was in the, or close to UCL spots. When Rino took over, we weren’t even in reach for Europa League, after Rino’s appointment, we even got a glimmer of hope for UCL football, this is a FACHTH you aren’t considering. Just consider that Rino, with six months time, gets the third highest point tally after Juve and Napoli and yet only reach sixth place, that speaks volumes… Read more »
“I was very lucky, because my first goal with the Milan shirt was against Inter, with my head, which wasn’t my best quality.“ if my memory serves me correctly, it was rino who provided the assist. Milan ‘04 – ‘06 was one of the strongest milan ive seen. Time flies. Now milan and milanisti slowly but surely perform and think like mid table club; rookie ex-players with no merit as coaches, <top 4 finish on regular basis, kalinic/borini/calabria as starters etc. damn shame. Regarding paqueta, with him milan have new boban; a creative cm who can also play rough when… Read more »
Look what you are saying!!!
“Milan need Milanisti” and still you want Conte?!?! With his Juve DNA?!?!
Man you are losing touch and talk nonsense. I mean, finally you get it that Milan needs Milanista, but, man you can’t be taken seriously anymore.
Sometimes some “milanisti” on this blog are too funny for their own good. So, conte shouldnt be milan coach because of his juve dna? R u honestly telling me u didnt wet urself and ur bed every time ibra, a juventino AND interista, scored all those scudetto winning goals for milan? What about pipita? Milanisti should whistle at him now because he as juventino messed milan up on more than one occasion? I deliberately didnt mention capello, baggio, zambrotta, inzaghi and the likes because i know ur too young to know them. U remind me of xavi and his “barca… Read more »
Milan10 you really don’t get it huh?
You can’t compare Ibra, Inzaghi and all the other guys with Conte.
Conte played over 11 years at Juve and won everything. He grew up there figurally speaking. He and some other players lije Del Piero and Di Livio were the face of the Juve in the 90s.
He was always fan of Juventus in particular and declared the love for Juve.
Ibra, Inzaghi and Baggio all declared the love for Milan. Period
All the other players were just visiting.
So, according to u pippo et al were welcomed because they declared their love for milan and conte wouldnt be because he never declares his love for milan? So football is about declaration of love now? Thats some twisted britney spears sh1t mate. I think uve watched one too many cinderella and other disney’s fairy tales cartoons. Remember matthias sammer? He was the best player of dortmund (sworn enemies of bayern) and germany. Do YOU know where he works now as sporting director? Remember pirlo? He was much more important player for milan (playing for almost a decade) AND italy… Read more »
Signing Paqueta last season wouldn’t be considered a smart decision at the time as he had not broken through yet. he didn’t exactly put a mark on the league. He had 1 goal and 1 assist the year before, its like taking a shot in the dark and hope to hit the center of the target, You can hit the jackpot but most of the time you wont.. Its easy to be wise after, like you always are.
Er, i never said anything about signing paqueta last season. If ur referring to this “It shouldve been him last season splashing those 200m around not obelix” i meant leo not paqueta. It shouldve been leo splashing 200m as im sure he wouldve done better job. It seems my milan righteousness messed up ur reading comprehension mate. And no, i always said all those morontella, formations, squad, etc BEFORE they all happened and i was proven to be right time and time again. Andre silva for example. So yeah, its easy to be wise after (ur morontella fan, u should… Read more »
Sorry man
Say mate, is Pirlo a Juventino, Interista, or Milanista?
As far as im concerned, anyone who’s made a mark at milan IS a milanista. Yes including ronaldo. This is a football club not some sicilian mafia with their exclusivity
Even capello said he like how milan been playing
Last night england using 4-3-1-2 with 2 modern st upfront annihilated boring “cross the ball into penalty box and hope for the best” milan-esque 4-3-3 spain. It shouldve been clean 3-0 if it wasnt for alcacer and outrageous 8 mins extra time. Lesson is: Even spain looked clueless without proper COACH and right players. Speaking of alcacer, LIKE I SAID, i always admire dortmund (and ajax) so i notice alcacer’s exploits this season. He and that next lewandowski guy at genoa really have nice finishing and shot technique. But then again, anyone, yes including borriello, dolberg and beloverrated can be… Read more »
You want to break your new record of dislikes with this?
Everything he writes is stuff I’m pretty sure he does so while standing in front of a blow up doll of himself bent over
He’s self love is so strong now he’s actually using capital letters to express it
Some day we’ll all come on here and instead of Milan ten using words it’ll just be a sticky splash left behind and a picture of himself
Whahahahahahahahaha
What is it with some milanisti and their freudian tendencies to link something to masturbation? In psychology and psychiatry its called projection. I mean, by all means please go jerk off to morontella or rino posters while looking at milan position outside top 4 at the table at ur own private rooms but no one else should know about it
Correctamundo mateio, I know everythingio about footballio

How’s things buddy
Just having a laugh mate trying to entertain myself while the international break is on
I’m Irish and unfortunately our national team is so bad I need other ways to pass the time while waiting for the greatest derby on earth, roll on Sunday until we hopefully kick Inter’s ass so bad they get a nose bleed
See? This is what milan and their constant outside top 4 finish all these years have done to my fellow beloved loyal milanista naz. Goddamn u milan mgmt for letting this happen to many milanisti around the world. Get ur act together and build a real milan we milanisti can be proud off, starting with conte’s appointment *wink
Only tweens care about likes/dislikes. Lets talk football and FACHTS, shall we?
Its hard to believe Milan after so many errors in management selections would again give the job to a rookie! It’s absolutely bonkers, and all joking aside yourself, myself and a few others and probably plenty more only there afraid of the dreaded thumbs down button to say it but Conte should have being brought in the moment his contract was resolved with Chelsea
I can understand some of the reservation regarding his status at Juventus given his a symbol of there’s but in all honesty who cares as long as he wins with us?
Alcacer is a fine player tho, for years. He just couldn’t get those minutes in Barcelona, whilst in Valencia he was shouted to be next David Villa. As for England game…. what I saw is a group with some FAST players that can adopt to any formation really. In modern football it’s crucial to have some fast players in your team so opposition back line always trembles from them running behind. Rashford and Sterling are faster with one leg then one of our fastest players and I would say that is the biggest defect of this squad, in some situations… Read more »
Correctamundo mate. Thats half my point, the other is this: u cant implement ancient anglo-crossing tactic using 4-3-3 formation unless u have fast wingers like bayern’s robbery. Dribbling and ball control alone arent enough
Do you guys read Mirabelli statements his biggest mistake he didn’t picked a top player. Why don’t he
Says his biggest regret he didn’t listen to anybody
I wish we would sign Leandro Paredes instead of Paqueta to be honest if Milan only can buy 1 player in january because of FFP
Lol really dude? Paredes is good yes with serie a experience, I think he’s as good as bonaventura but will he really be better in the future? I don’t think so, Paqueta is where it is at, I hope we can get Barella in January and our mid is complete, if we don’t keep Bakayoko then we should definitely try for Parades as he would be a good utility player that can play where in midfield.
I think Paredes can outperform Bonaventura already now when are people going to realise that Bonaventura is not a natural CM he is a LW LM and Barella in january? That is not possible with his price tag especially with FFP rules so you can forget him already now and for some reason i have doubts about this Paqueta guy just because he has futsal skills and technique doesnt mean that he is going to be a star i have seen many way more talented players than Paqueta fail for many reasons but lets take an example a recent one… Read more »
Are you serious? Brazilian Serie A is a really tough league, dude! It’s not high level quality-wise. But it’s one of the toughest leagues in the world. Comparing Paquetá to Mastour is absolutely ridiculous.
Mark my words. Paqueta sucks and will be a failure. Anyone watch his youtube, especially his full matches, and tell me he is worth all the hype. And to think he ll do better in serie a. Its another big brazilian hype monster, see ganso. On another note, talk of zlatan is a bit annoying becuz it will curtail crutones time, but ah it would be nice to have ibra again. Idea: convince him to play in attacking midfield. I remember we did this once or twice against minnows when he was on our team and it was like riquelme.… Read more »

Paqueta is a young raw gem buddy! He just needs a little polishing and he’ll be a monster! Btw, you talk about Paqueta the same way folks here rubbished Richarlison when we were linked to him. Go watch him at Everton now.
Sure, some of them work out. But i have yet to see a moment on any of paquetas videos that marks him as a special genius of any sort. Its all a trick here or there, gets knocked down, does a cocky dance, scores an odd header. Richarlison looked better than this in brazil, surely
Although I get your example, Richarlison started the same way at Watford too, great beginning but then completely faded out. Let’s see how he performs throughout the season before we use him as an example:)
Ibra is now 37 and cannot really track back hustling with midfielders in that AM role. I don’t think Ibra is needed unless he’s willing to be 2nd choice and as much as people may love to see 2 strikers up front, Gattuso is not looking to do it. Besides I don’t think Ibra Higuain will be such a great combo, maybe on technical terms but seeing both guys like attention and prefer directing others, the combo can rather be more negative. If you have the two in your team without proper definitive roles, you know what can happen to… Read more »
I dont agree, Gattuso stated earlier that he is exploring the idea of changing formations, and I do think he is looking at 4-4-2 which makes an eventual signing of Ibra likely. And this deal will be for six months, Cutrone will benefit a lot from it even if he won’t play a lot which I do think he will. Moise Keane stayed at Juve because training alongside CR7 for one year would benefit him more than a year on loan. Imagine what playing alongside a great like Ibra and a striker like Higuain will do for Cutrone. If Ibra… Read more »
An am like totti, riquelme or zidane rarely track back. Thats why theyre am. Lippi once played zidane as cm in 4-3-3 and zidane failed because he didnt track back.
Gattuso has said that the team control less well with 2 strikers and through his interviews he seems to be putting big importance in taking control of games. So apart from occasionally, I doubt he would permanently switch to 2 up top. I know what you mean. Yes the likes of Nocerino had big seasons with Ibra, even though I think his impact on their performances been a bit exaggerated. The other side of Ibras story is that the Swedish NT players were playing much better without him. With some players even voicing their concerns if he should back to… Read more »
Milan10… Get over it we dominated the world for years we are just resting for the time being. Give it time and if you have to critize the team we love so much, please do us a favour DON’T. Being a Rossoneri means to trust the team no matter what, I do trust Gattuso, I love the football we are playing and most importantly I trust Leonardo! And Maldini. If they think Gattuso is perfect, that’s it he is perfect
