Gonzalo Higuain was pleased after he scored his first brace for Milan in a win over Chievo: ‘The results are coming and we have to continue like this’.
Milan got their third win in a row in all competitions today as they defeated Chievo 3-1 thanks to two Higuain goals and one from Giacomo Bonaventura. All three goals were assisted by Suso.
Higuain has been in terrific form as of late and in fact he has scored six goals in his last five games for the Rossoneri, finding the back of the net in each of them.
“I feel part of this Milan, we are a fantastic group,” El Pipita, who arrived to Milan from Juventus in the summer, told Sky Italia after the game. “We’re working at the maximum. There can be mistakes but the important thing is the professionalism that is here. This is the way to continue.
“We had a start [to the season] that didn’t reflect our game and the opportunities created but now the results are coming and we have to continue like this. Milan have given me so much confidence from the first day and I try to repay them on the pitch. It’s also a new challenge and that fires you up.
“I’m very happy here. We hope to continue like this. The relationship with Suso? I was always watching him when I played in other teams. He’s a fantastic player and when he raises his head he has a very high quality in placing the ball, the second assist was fantastic. So I thank him and all the teammates who have done an immense today, even those who don’t play.
“Derby? We’ll try to win them all, always giving the maximum. Winning the derby obviously would be nice.” Higuain is not part of the Argentina squad so he’ll stay at Milanello to prepare for Inter.
