Tiémoué Bakayoko’s debut may take place already on Sunday as Gattuso is apparently thinking to use Giacomo Bonaventura in attack.
While Leonardo and Paolo Maldini are working to complete the squad in time for the transfer market deadline on August 17, Gennaro Gattuso and his boys are preparing for the Serie A opener.
On Sunday at Stadio San Siro at 20:30 CEST, Milan take on Genoa, who will be without Diego Laxalt who’ll sign for Milan tomorrow. The Rossoneri will have to be however without Hakan Çalhanoğlu, who is suspended for the match due to the yellow cards he received last season.
As a result, Gattuso is forced to think of solutions. At first it was believed that Fabio Borini would replace Hakan in the line-up alongside Gonzalo Higuain and Suso, but according to a report from Sky Italia on Wednesday, Giacomo Bonaventura could be used as the left winger.
With Jack in attack, Sky expects new signing Tiémoué Bakayoko to play from the start, most likely with Lucas Biglia and Franck Kessié. Bakayoko has only been training with Milan for a couple of days, but according to Sportitalia’s Michele Criscitiello, Gattuso has been ‘bewitched’ by the 23-year-old.
In defense meanwhile, Alessio Romagnoli is expected to be flanked by Mateo Musacchio, with Mattia Caldara on the bench. There is still time until Sunday and Gattuso is considering his options.
