Carlos Bacca talked about his future, saying he needs to talk to Milan when he returns, but a stay is unlikely.
Milan are in talks to bring a new striker to the club (Gonzalo Higuain and Álvaro Morata the top candidates), but it’s clear that they will have to make some sales as well, as they currently have Patrick Cutrone, Nikola Kalinić, André Silva and Carlos Bacca for the striker role.
Bacca, who was with the Colombian national team in Russia for the World Cup, spoke to Fox Sport Colombia to discuss his future, which will most likely not be red and black.
“The penalty miss against England in the World Cup? It’s difficult, you always try to make the best decision, more so in the instance of penalties, which isn’t easy,” Bacca, 31-year-old, said. “You always want to make it, unfortunately I missed, but football continues, it gives you rematches, which is important, and we have faith in God and in our work that better things will come.
“The time at Villarreal? I felt better with all the respect and the courage that they have given me on and off the pitch. I would like to stay in Spain… let’s wait, we can’t go ahead, I have to be respectful, I have a contract with Milan, I respect that and I have to wait until I get there, talk about what the situation is like, about what they want from me, about what I want, and then make the best decision.

“Competing with Cristian Ronaldo in Serie A? We return with hope as always, with the desire and optimism of doing things well. But we don’t know what will happen, we leave everything in the hands of God. I have to present myself at Milan, but I’ll probably not stay.
“Vincenzo Montella is gone now? I didn’t have problems with the coach, all coaches have their type of players. I didn’t fit the system, what he wanted or I wasn’t his type of player. Outside [the pitch] there was no problem, I’m a happen who knows and respects the decisions [of the coach] and I made the decision to go to Villarreal.
“I have a contract with Milan, I need to go back there, what I want to say is that I don’t know what will happen. When I return, I have to talk to them and look to the future.”
Ibra wants to join?
Get him! He can still score 20+ goals. Never count him out.
I still take Bacca over Kalinic any day. 433 needs a pivot up front and we have none, but pair Bacca next to Silva and they both shine. 4222/442 is the way to go.
I partially agree. Replace the word Silva with Cutrone, then I fully agree 😉
I want barca to stay in milan. kallink is not as good as barca . kallink should go
Let’s put things into perspective here:
– Bacca scored 31 goals in 70 Milan appearances (44% chance of scoring/game)
– Kalinic scored 6 in 31 appearances (19% chance of scoring/game)
Bacca was not perfect but he’s twice the striker Kalinic was with us
Bacca kalinic Monty Bertolacci Bonucci zapata sold
Higuain Caldara Vidal depay peredes t.silva champions league here we come
Higuain is not the same player he was when scored record goals for Napoli. I would rather have Crutone, Bacca and Silva as 3 main CF in the squad. Kalinic should have never been brought in place of Bacca who is superior. We can start with Bacca and bring Crutone or Silva in 2nd half or vice versa. Also CB paly longer at top level so IMHO if I had to choose I will keep Bonucci over getting Higuain. Have 3 CF in the squad and keep them fit for God sake. Look at Real Madrid, they only had Benzema… Read more »
