Stefano Mazzoni has given an update on the conditions of Andrea Conti, Riccardo Montolivo, Antonelli and Calabria.

Vincenzo Montella has found himself in a bit of a fullbacks crisis as three of his men are injured, which means a player like Fabio Borini can get a run as a wingback.

Today, team doctor Mazzoni gave the weekly update on the conditions of the injured players, and it seems that Montolivo, Luca Antonelli and Davide Calabria are all near a return, while there are also positives about Conti, who underwent surgery after an ACL injury which will keep him out for six months.

Concerning Conti, we are pleased with how the surgery went,” Mazzoni told a MilanTV reporter on Tuesday afternoon. “The knee did not swell up too much [after his injury] and this made it possible to have him undergo surgery almost immediately and [the knee] was not too swollen also post-surgery. So, things are going well. The boy is in a good mood and is working hard.

“Montolivo and Antonelli both suffered from muscular injuries. Luckily, it’s nothing too serious. They have both resumed training on the pitch on a personalized training regime. They’re close to resuming training with the rest of the squad. When exactly they’ll be back training alongside their teammates and fully fit depends on the muscular response to the personalized training regime on the pitch.

“Calabria [who is seen by Montella as one of the Conti replacements] suffered an injury to his adductor. It’s not a muscle strain, therefore we are not particularly worried because luckily, we have excluded anything more serious. Davide, as well as the two other players, has resumed training on the pitch and for him as well we have to wait and see how he is after his personalized programme.”

I miss u Conti on the pitch.

Fatigues, Montella changing athletics coach, hmmm… Even though I am a fan of sacking Montella, I hope he starts getting good results and hell even wins something. For it’s about loving the team and not hating some coach after all.
