Jose Sosa said ‘no’ to Trabzonspor several times over the summer, but he finally told them ‘yes’ in time to complete a move on the Turkish deadline day.
Trabzonspor pressed hard to get Jose Sosa all summer and after getting rejected on a few occasions, including last week, they went ahead and raised their offer to the player, who finally agreed to join them.
The Turkish side, who had to wait until their Deadline Day to announce the player, confirmed that Sosa is joining from Milan on a loan with option to buy. Trabzonspor will be paying €1.35 million for the loan, while their option, which is perhaps more of a formality, is for €3.4 million to be triggered by January 15, 2018, seeing as the contract of Sosa with Milan was due to end in June 2018.
He’s expected to earn €5-6m a year at Trabzonspor. Sosa, 32, was signed by Milan from Beşiktaş for €7m last summer but suffered from the fact that Montella did not use a formation with an attacking midfielder, so he had to adjust and adapt to the regista role, which he had never played before.
Sosa underwent the medical and signed the contract today and he is joining Juraj Kucka in Turkey, as the player was sold to Trabzonspor for a reported €5m. The Milan mercato is now truly over.
