Rodrigo Ely returns to the La Liga outfit where he played on loan last season, this time on a four-year deal.

The 23-year-old Ely was never really in the plans of coach Vincenzo Montella for the upcoming season and today his return to Deportivo Alavés became official.

“Alavés has closed the signing of Rodrigo Ely for the next four years,” they confirmed in a statement on their website.

The Brazilian originally joined Milan on 2013 and was loaned to Reggina and Varese before getting sold to Avellino. After impressing in Serie B, he was brought back in 2015; he made four appearances under Sinisa Mihajlovic, and is remembered for getting sent off against Fiorentina on Matchday 1.

The Mino Raiola client spent the second half of last season with Alavés and he is now heading back there to make a name for himself. Milan will get €3m plus 30% of his future sale, Milannews.it claims.

I give you my farewell. Wish you the best in your career. Go on and achieve your goals, I’ll remember you for the little time you had with Milan.

Ah too bad, had high hopes for this kid.

Milan needs a striker.. I don’t mind if Costa can be signed for one year. We just need Champion league qualifications for us to attract world class players. Once we qualify, we can now look for a permanent solution. For now, we need players to catapult us to top three and to even challenge juve. for the cup. Once we don’t achieve this now, it will be a disaster and we may never get it right again. so we need to send now to get the right players. we need a push.

We def. need a world class striker fellas. Someone needs to spearhead the attack.
How about Schick? If his heart issue has been resolved Of course. Half the price of Auba and Belotti

Ely wishing you the best of luck

We needed to keep him in the squad if we play with three CB.
Good luck Ely. Hope you have more awesome performances in Alaves like last season.

Nazz

Good luck. Play well there, so Milan will buy him back with 30% discount….:)))

I actually thought he should stay and be given a shot. It’s true we have enough CBs if we’re going to play with 2 in the back, but he could have helped solve our problems in the air perhaps.

Oh well, no biggie. I wish him well as long as he doesn’t face Milan.
