Andrea Bertolacci has returned to Genoa and he will look to revive his career.

Bertolacci’s excellent performances for the Grifone earned him a €20m move and a contract at Milan, but the midfield failed to replicate his form and has had two very disappointing seasons in red and black.

Today (Saturday), Berto, 26, officially returned to Genoa and he will spend the next 2017/18 season on loan there.

“Genoa C.F.C announce that we have formalized the temporary signing of midfielder Bertolacci,” read a statement on Genoa’s website. “For the player who has five senior Italy caps, it is a return to the oldest club in Italy, with whom he had put together 88 league appearances, scoring 12 goals, during three seasons.”

Bertolacci posted the following message on his Instagram account: “I’ve come back to Genoa. And I felt right at home. I’ve found familiar faces, smiles, hugs and wishes. Milan believed in me and is proving to continue doing so by granting me the come back here.

“Things don’t always go as planned, but today I want to think about the future and my future is Genoa. I’m happy, and I’m really to put in the effort, sweat, heart and head. As always.” Goodluck!

Above comment went wrong, haha. Never a Milan player, and should never be seen in a Milan jersey again. Not his fault really on the price tag, however, a 7-10 million player should still be able to string more than three passes together. Rarely remember a bigger waste of money.

If he does go and score ten for Genoa, his level, I beg nobody suggests he comes back for the European Cup campaign in two seasons time.

Good news keeps on coming,
