Report: Milan had a €6 million deal with Antalyaspor for Sosa but the Argentine midfielder said ‘no’ to the transfer

Jose Sosa has reportedly refused the Turkish club, even though the Rossoneri had found an agreement with them.

Jose Sosa’s agent has already made it clear that the intentions of the player is to remain at Milan and as reported by Sky Italia, the 32-year-old has rejected an offer from Süper Lig’s Antalyaspor.

Sky suggests that Antalyaspor and Milan agreed on a €6m transfer fee for the player, but Sosa and his agent chose to turn down the offer. TMW even goes to claim that Jose’s representative provocatively asked for a salary of €5m a season from Antalyaspor to show them he’s not at all interested in a return to Turkey.

Jose cost Milan €7.5m last summer and his contract expires in 2018. With Milan playing in 3 competitions and having already sold Poli and Kucka, Sosa could be useful for depth next season.

No don’t sell Sosa. We have almost 60 competitive matches to play in 3 different competitions. Red card and injuries should be considered. Keep Sosa

well we should have kept Kucka instead of this guy

We should sell him for sure we can get better players now, he had like 2 good games…if we sold Kuco i don t see why would we keep Sosa, we can get Pasalic back for those 6mil who was better and is only 22years old.

Pasalic is younger but he’s another profile, Sosa is a regista, like Montolivo and Biglia and he can help the team by creating chances coming from the bench in the second half for example, in the games with problems.
Pasalic can’t bring many solutions in atack if there will be games with problems and we will need to force scoring goals…

Well in general they are both attacking midfields, Sosa was played as regista by Montela but in turkey he had way more attacking position something like a winger, but Pasalic can play as regista two and central mid, and at 22 he has a lot of time to become much better, i wont mind if we get him he was ok last season and i just read a spanish team offer for Pasalic like 3.5mil so he is cheap and better for depth than Sosa for sure.

Pasalic, attacking midfielder or regista ??? Never !!! He can never become better than Sosa, the only better thing is that he is younger ! He played much more games than Sosa because we had a lot of problems at midifeld and he works hard, he is a working player, a box to box average player, he doesn’t have a good passing, doesn’t have good shot, doesn’t have dribbling, this was the Milan unfortunately. I am sure that we need the experience of Sosa in the 3 competitions we will play in the coming season

keep him is good, sell with younger replacement will be better, with biglia coming, we’ve many midfield but is good cuz oldies + berto all injury prone, loca & kesi still too young, we need rotation & backup option

Clearly you didnt watch much of milan games last season for you to say pasalic was better than lord sosa…….when montolivo was injuried and locatelli’s performance began to drop, who stepped up and took the regista role??? Lord Sosa!!
Pasalic was a waste of space but he sometimes makes up for it with goals and thats all about pasalic……xo please dont compare pasalic to sosa……never!! Sosa is here to stay..

Sosa has not contributed much to this milan side since he was signed last season. Therefore I see no reason why he should remain with the team. This is the right time to sell him & get a better player that can perform better.

Some fans here are funny, how could u even think of comparing Sosa to Pasalic?! That’s an insult. Apart from goals Pasalic was totally useless… Sosa was d only creative midfield player we had last season…and d only one wit good passes

And they sold kucka, where is the depth we are looking for or are we going sign new benchwarmers for depth or what, our signings are good but our player clear outs has been poor so far apart from poli.

Kucka was nothing special. Yes he scored some nice goals but so did Borriello and guest what? They are both slow and predictable as hell. I hope someone like Tiago Maia replace Kucka. Milan made the right decision to sell kucka. Montella wants players that are versatile that way they can fit into 2 or 3 different formation and tactics. Hence, Tiago Maia. Now is the right time to offload Bacca, Lapadula, and Niang. They were all disappointing last season. Only Lapadula deserves a pass since it was his first season at Milan in Serie A but I have no… Read more »

I agree. Now that we are revamping the squad we should sell these players while they’re still worth something. Kucka, Paletta, Sosa and others are at a certain age and will leave for free in the following years if not now.

We can easily buy cheap, younger squad players like Borini, it’s not that hard.

Ink

Yeah sell everyone and buy all new players, right?
a to z
A blank sheet.

And after selling them, for squad players if we buy ”cheap” players of the ”quality” of Borini, then what’s the point of selling our average players at all?

Kourosh
Guest

The point is they’re younger and more suited for our way of play. Savvy?

Sosa is a good rigista but ge get tired easily and commit unreasonable fouls.. We have Montolivo and Locatelli… i think selling Susa will be nice since Biglia will be joining us in couple of days, the rotation will be good since we are playing in 3 different competions next season … The management should have sell Bartolacci and keep Kucka, even though he will be a reserve player as backup for Kessie…

1) great, another bogarde/zaccardo. Great job galliani 2) sosa is NOT a natural regista, he’s am/rm/rw, so lets stop pretending he is. But now that milan are finally addressing their cm/dm problems, montella can play sosa in his preffered positions. Maybe then sosa can start playing better 3) pasalic is NOT a regista, nor a good player for that matter. Whoever wants him back at milan is a filthy twisted masochist 4) milan are not guaranteed to play > 50 matches next season because europa league and coppa italia are in fact not full on leagues but tournaments so unless… Read more »

Wow its weird to see people hate Pasalic.he scored the goal when we won 9 men against 11 and he scored the winning penalty against Juve. Can Sosa do the same ?if not he must go Asap.

+milan
Guest
+milan

why can’t sosa do the same??
Lord Sosa is always at the middle of the pack pulling the strings and covering for your xo called pasalic..
the goal he scored against 9 men was purely deulofeu’s hard work, all he did was tap in which anyone could have done….
now finally did your pasalic ever feature in the European team of any week last season???

Ali

Pasalic was a poor player so we want him gone, but no hate really.

I can’t understand people hating on Sosa! First of all, he had to adapt from his attacking midfield role to own the registra position when Monto got injured and the natural heir, Locatelli began to drop in form and show his inexperience. Comparing J. Sosa to Kucka is so lame, because J.Sosa is better. I admire Kucka’s energy and commitment, but you need more to win games. J. Sosa’s passing abilities are very good. Yes, he most likely won’t start, but he’s got abilities that will be useful from the bench. Respect J. Ernesto Sosa! Forza Milan!

You have to deeply understand football to see that Sosa is a good player, a good midfielder, a versatile one, and Pasalic is just a player of football, hard working, but without talent. I don’t know how intelligent is Montella to exploit Sosa’s qualities. It’s not enough to score 6 goals to be a good player

Musa kaga
Guest

Comment:The first mistake by this management was retaining Montella.
the second was letting kucka go while we only have one box to box midfielder , I blame kucka for that though, as he can simply decline as he still has a contract with Milan.
selling out Sosa would have been the next mistake, thank God he was brave to reject the offer. we can’t sell off all and buy new one’s, we are buying young players, its important to keep some old ones to blend.

This isnt as weird as people are making it out to be. Sosa was desperate to leave Besiktas and Turkey due to the instability of the team, who knows, if it was another team he might’ve accepted but he doesn’t want to go back there.
I dont mind him staying anyways, think he is a very talented player, ofc he will foul and do the dirty work, he isnt a regista, he is a mezzala/trequartista-ish player. He will be important for depth if he stays.

Give this guy a break, montella played him out of his original position . He’s a attacking midfielder not a cm or dm
