Diego López will be staying at Espanyol after a successful season there on loan, the Spanish club announced today.
The Spanish goalkeeper joined the Rossoneri in 2014 from Real Madrid and after losing his place in the starting XI to a 16-year-old Gianluigi Donnarumma, he left last summer to join Espanyol on loan.
The 35-year-old López had a very positive season with the Barcelona-based club and today (Tuesday) it was announced that Espanyol will be keeping him.
“Diego López and RCD Espanyol have reached an agreement for which the Galician goalkeeper will definitely join the squad of the first team,” a statement on their website reads. “The goalkeeper has signed his commitment with RCD Espanyol until June 30th 2020 and will have a clause of €50 million.”
Diego’s deal with Milan was due to expire in 2018. It is unknown at this point how much the Diavolo got for him.
I think with departure of uncle foster we going to get something … I mean a much needed financial support….I guess but have to wait and watch..
I would hate to see Bacca leave, as his experience will be amazing for next season.
However, if he did go, then I wish to keep NiYang and Milan to try their best to buy Aubameyang
his experience didnt help dis season, is it now next season it will now help?
i hope we got at least three million from this deal, we need every penny as we will be busy in the market
Off the topic… Next match I hope to see Cutrone from the start! Since we ve secured the europe comeback… Along with Calabria, locatelli or mybe also Plizzari…
That would be nice, Cutrone and Lapadula as strikers
Plizzari is not available, he’s at the Under 20 World Cup with Italy.
I watched their first match against Uruguy, they were dominated in midfield. They need to fly in Locatelli so he can dictate the midfield for them. He is 18 years old so why not?
I think Locatelli is a member of the Italy under-21 national team now and will play in Italy’s Euro Championship campaign next month. So maybe that’s why. He was promoted and played in a few friendlies for the under-21 side recently.
Plizzari would be a good alternative, if Donnarumma would leave. I dont hope so.
He was a real asset during his days here, fare well Diego!
And I totally agree with our Indonesian friend. Now that we have our place in Europe secured let’s play some of our youngsters, i’d say 5 of them. That will surely serve them good.
Comment: Since Honda and Bacca are leaving, we start with them anr sub in Cutrone. Locatelli and Calabria should start the match and if Zapata is going too, he should play to honour their exit, probably Storari too.
we can just play all the leaving team:
Bacca,Bertolacci,Honda,MSD,Ocampos,Pasalic,Poli, and Zapata with Storari at the goal post.
sub in locatelli,Cutrone,Mati/Calabria.
Lol knowing Milan’s luck this team would dominate and win 8-0 haha!!!
“bertolacci,Honda,MSD,Ocampos,Pasalic,Poli, and Zapata with Storari at the goal post.” Then FIGC would punish Milan for match fixing
I read that Bacca may be leaving Milan this Summer. What a pity since his experience in Europa would of been very vital for the club. Nonetheless, if we do bring in another striker, which we should because Lapadula and Cutrone alone cannot help us in Europa, whoever he may be has to be an upgrade to Bacca. Of the possible targets that we have been linked with, such as Simeone, Kalinic, Belotti, Morata and even Aubameyang (there may be more but I’m not sure who) I think it is best that we get them as soon as possible and… Read more »
“With regards to youth, we should keep Pasalic, the kid has been outstanding, and has even expressed his desire to stay in Milan. I think we should keep him, he has already demonstrated his will to stay by scoring a lot of goals for us, not forgetting that penalty that won us our Supercoppa Italia trophy.” amusing. We dont always get to know how much how players are been sold
Comment: just read that Morata chose Milan over other clubs, Sosa wants to stay and Niang wants to return to the team…
To me, Niang is better a striker not as a winger.
