Mario Pasalic says ‘it was unbelievable seeing all my teammates running towards me’ and reveals the penalty in last night’s Supercoppa was his first one ever.

Giorgio Chiellini scored in the 17′ minute but Giacomo Bonaventura answered back in the 38′ minute. Despite chances for both sides (especially Milan), there were no more goals for the rest of the game and after 120 minutes, the 2016 Supercoppa Italiana went to a shootout.

Coach Vincenzo Montella revealed he wanted Pasalic to shoot third, but after Marchisio (goal), Lapadula (saved), Mandzukic (crossbar), Bonaventura (goal), Higuain (goal), Kucka (goal), Khedira (goal), Suso (goal) and Dybala (saved), the Croatian, who is on loan at Milan from Chelsea, took the final penalty and beat Gianluigi Buffon to give the Rossoneri the trophy.

“I tried to stay relaxed and calm, because I knew it was the decisive penalty for the trophy,” said Pasalic who played a great game off the bench, replacing Manuel Locatelli in the 74′ minute. “I am 21 years old, I felt all the responsibility on my back, and I’m very excited because it was the first penalty of my career, in the end I scored and there were big emotions and I’ve very happy.

“It was unbelievable seeing all my teammates running towards me, all the emotions came, my mind went back to when I was a kid and I was dreaming of a moment like this, so I’m very happy. This victory is for my family and my friends. In particular, I want to thank those who have helped me in my career and the manager who has always believed in me. My future [he is supposed to return to Chelsea]? I don’t know what will happen at the end of the season. We’ll see.”

Pasalic, like the rest of the players, will now enjoy this amazing victory while on vacation and he’ll return to training in early January as the Rossoneri face Cagliari at Stadio San Siro on January 8th.

Marco Pjaca blessing in disguise

Mojdanis

Mario steping up in front of Buffon with that smirky face. Those are the moments that yoy don’t forget. Hvala Mario!

Marac

Bravo Mario! Puno sreće dalje, posebno u našoj repki! Nemoj otići iz Milana, ostani. Tu si važan i potreban! Pozdrav iz Hrvatske, sretan Božić i Nova Godina! 🙂

Pasalic haters gone quiet…

Ink

Hey I still hate him. Could not write that because my uni is on.
How can I support midfielders good with vanishing tricks?
And did you notice Chelsea blogs are acting like Pasalic won the match on his own?

As I said, if we have cash, we will need a few real world class players, not youngsters who can do vanishing tricks and cringing away from challenges and whose potentials might or might not come true. We have our own youngsters for that.

Dree

Moron!

Ink

Please, Dree, prove how much of a moron I am and tell me what Pasalic does in a match.

Ink

Bet his Chelsea overlords are pleased.
I appreciate the fact that he took the kick and scored.
But that’s about it. In league games, you need to fight for the balls, not vanish and shy away from challenges like a scared puppy.
So, thanks but no thanks. Go back to Chelsea soon. If we have cash, we will need a few real world class players, not youngsters who can do vanishing tricks and whose potentials might or might not come true.

unspoken

agreed

Ink

Psst the ‘thumb downers’, care to tell me what Pasalic contributed in the match apart from the penalty kick (which is a lottery) and where did he vanish on Atalanta match, and in fact, the whole season (apart from the sitter head in goal)?

dindudre

I don’t like insulting my fellow Milanistas on this blog . But you my friend is a crazy ignorant dude . Go take a sit somewhere .

Ink

I’m sitting right on my chair.
But I don’t see any intelligent people contradicting me by any valid points.
So, yeah I am a very crazy ignorant dude.

Ink

And dindure, I don’t see you telling me what Pasalic does in a match as well. Please, school me, prove how much of an ignorant fool I am.

And to others – don’t come crying when Pasalic vanishes again in future matches.

Abati Ibrahim

You just said penalty is a lottery, if i hear….I think u knw losing penalty by Niang cost us whr we r today on the log….So my brother don’t ever and never call a penalty a lottery.

Ink

Errrrr what do you mean exactly?
How does that make penalty – not a lottery?

agustinar

He is still young. His penalty will give him confidence. He will grow to be a better player in Milan. He needs to improve his aerial ability since he is a tall player in our midfield. So he can help much to our defense.

Ink

@agustinar
He can.
But he does not.
Have you ever seen him helping out our defense? Ever?

@all others who does not have the guts to put some valid points
Anyone? Ever?
How many times has he fought and won challenges?
Lapadula helps the defense more than he does.
So why do we need him, exactly?

Mojdanis

He is amazing player all around, he is good in defense and in attack. He is so good I dare to say he could be next Pogba. Tall, fast, strong and really skillful are just some words that express what is Mario Pasalic. I am Montenegirin but I fell like Croat when I watch him play. Mario is one of the best for sure and without him I am not sure we would win the Supercopa

Ink

I am not sure if you are being sarcastic.
If you are, kudos to you.

pato

I hope Milan won’t sell Pasalic he is still young we need young players in this team.

Ink

We cannot sell him. Chelsea can sell him.
Any why shall we buy him when we have up and coming youngsters ourselves?

Should we sell Zanelatto, la Ferrara, Modic brothers etc etc to make room for another youngster-Pasalic?

What is the point of the sale of the club, the money infusion, if we do not buy world class players and keep taking players who might not live up to their potentials?
Waste the wage?

ck

He may not be great, but don’t degrade him like how u would do it to muntari and essien. He isn’t a great asset but he isn’t a great liability as well. So he’s better than Essien, mesbah etc

Ink

Mate, at least Muntari and Essien showed desire to run and fight for the balls on the pitch.
Lapadula comes to midfield to bail Pasalic out, so, I deiagree that he is not a liability at times.
In Atalanta game, if he did not vanish and Lapadula could stay at the front some more, maybe we could get a goal.

Santa claus

I don’t care whatever
you, OCTOPUS INK say,
If you want world class plywra
Go to the hell and supoort
madrid, psg, or shanghai sipg

Ink

I like the title, Octopus Ink.
Maybe I could throw the ink at deluded people just like octopuses do.
I heard that is even considered a delicacy at some parts of the world.

BUT

There is the Santa Claus who does not want world class players, and likes to bitch when many of our current players play badly, and vanishes in matches and bitches about not being in CL and winning etc.

Mental note -> Santa Claus = against the takeover

Bright007

It seems to me that am the only person that understands what ink dude is saying…if we are looking for some youngsters why then sell the club to Chinese bcos as we the fans already know, football is all about money and you can only get already made players with real money the likes of madrid barca bayern nd co are above us on ranking is bcos they go for already made player…youngsters takes time to build and becomes real stars…bt am not in support of letting pasalic go…that guy is talented

Ink

Thank you Bright007, you are a bright guy.
I respect your opinion that you are not in support of letting him go.
As you mentioned, what is the point of a takeover and cash injection if we are not going after world class players and instead looking for cheap bargain buys and loan players.

Ink

Also, I am not against building with youngsters, hell, I am all for it. I am very excited for the time when Zanelatto and the others make it into the first team. But I am not thrilled when we take youngsters who are using us to get a reputation and go away. Not at the cost of our own youngsters and players.

misund

Ink is has many good points and I totaly agree. Whoscored.com give pasalic 6.50 rating after 8 matches. he does 0.6 interceptions pr game. that means he wins the ball back half a time pr match. wich means he has made 4 interceptions this far over 8 matchs. its crap to be honest. nothing defensivly to prove for. (his point proven).
