Luiz Adriano is reportedly being preferred over the Frenchman M’Baye Niang for tomorrow’s match against Sassuolo.

Milan boss Vincenzo Montella admitted in today’s presser (read in full) that this week in training he tried Luiz Adriano on the left wing on the attack in the place of Niang, who “in terms of quality, hasn’t done as well in recent games.”

According to a report this evening from Sky Italia, after the final training session on Saturday, Montella has decided to put Niang on the bench tomorrow and play Adriano from the first minute alongside Suso and Bacca.

It’s believed that Adriano will play on the left wing, although Sky’s Di Stefano claims that the Rossoneri – when not in possession – will play 4-3-1-2 tomorrow with Suso acting as the trequartista. Meanwhile, the physical condition of Calabria is not 100% so Ignazio Abate will play.

Other than Abate for Calabria and Luiz Adriano for Niang there aren’t expected to be any other changes compared to the squad that drew 0-0 with Fiorentina last week. Kickoff time is 18:00 CET.

Adriano is way better then niang. Niang lacks the character to become a champion. He looks like someone who will follow the balotteli’s part.

YK

One STRONG reason we shouldn’t have let EL92 go.

sas

i think Adriano, will do better than Niang,he is a hungry player ready to make a mark on the pitch

alayo

Niang will come back better and more serious.Good to be dropped to the bench

Remember when Montella benched Bacca, he came back even stronger… I see Montella is a better man manager than the recent coaches we have had.

Milan fan since 94

Agree …he needed this as he seems like it’s getting to his head been a direct starter, he needs to understand he can be replaced, he will definitely come back stronger

It appears like Montella knows how to read games. Impressive choices. 3 precious points all the way.

I honestly trust Montella.
I think he reads the situation at the current moment. Next week will be different. You can’ always play the same players if they haven’t been great. You bench them then let me play when they’re psychologically and physically ready
