Adriano Galliani has dropped big hints that he could leave Milan once the club is sold and defended the last few years.
Milan is set to be sold to a Chinese group and so the 30-year era of Berlusconi and Galliani will come to an end very soon.
“Berlusconi? I met with Silvio on the 1st of November 1979 for reasons related to TV. It’s been a 37-year-long relationship based on headshakes that are worth more than many things,” Galliani told Radio Deejay on Saturday, as reported by Milannews.it.
“25 good years and 5 not so good years? I would say 27 and 3 because nobody remembers that we won the Scudetto [in 2011] and always managed to get to the Champions League knockout stage. I think that when we leave Milan then out of the 30 years, people will remember the 28 trophies but we also finished in second place 17 times. We made it to the Champions League final 8 times.
“It’s a story to remember from the first to the last day.” Many Milan fans believe that the man most guilty for the downfall in the recent seasons is Galliani who, since sporting director Ariedo Braida left in 2013 and Berlusconi took a step back, has been completely in charge of the sporting side at Milan.

One of the accusations is that Milan under Galliani don’t have any scouting network and just sign players based on the suggestions of agents who have a close relationship with Uncle Fester. “Let’s not kid ourselves…” Galliani continued, “We have a very strong network of scouts. Nothing has changed, Braida left but we have the same scouts as before. I understand that when you don’t reach results it seems that we don’t do anything but it’s not like it, it seems that everything is wrong but it’s not.
“The people I’ve chosen have all had a great career.” The people the Chinese have chosen to replace Galliani (and Barbara Berlusconi to an extent) are Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirbaelli – both ex-Inter employees who will be respectively operating in the roles of CEO and Chief of Scouting.
“If I know the Chinese consortium? The negotiation is made between the seller – Fininvest – and the possible buyers – the Chinese consortium. We are the object, not the subject,” said Galliani, who was inducted into the Calcio Hall of Fame in 2011. “What will I do after Milan? I don’t want to think about it. Until the ‘closing’ I have to think if Milan and until that day happens I don’t want to think about it. I haven’t decided yet and until the day of the closing I’ll be at Milan, then I’ll think about it.

“How do I beat the melancholy these days? I have friends who make me wonder, they tell me there is no one in Europe that has lasted 30 years. In life everything begins and ends. I’ll do something else. It’s been the longest relationship of my life and it’s been wonderful.”
The Curva Sud have been protesting against Galliani for 2 years and it seems that Adriano could very soon leave his role after 30 years. Silvio, meanwhile, will remain as Honorary President.
Thanks for those beautiful years, we are not ingrates, we still celebrate you!
The era of dualism -even three- leadership in Milan will end, Berlusconi, Galliani and Barbara. I believe this will give positive effect to players especially to Montolivo as captain who has been the link between management to players beside the coach. I bet Monti will start giving his best performance this season. He has already showed it in last 3 games
One thing we should do as ac Milan is to give Paolo Maldini a major role in recruiting new players to our team! Just imagine how we could use Maldini”s influence in winning bidding wars on world class players who do not know which team they are signing and also use his influence on the free agents who every team are looking to sign! So Maldini”s influence on signing world class players it is really big, because imagine if you are one of the worlds best players and you don”t know where to sign and then legend like Maldini cals… Read more »

Wake up mate. If you are one of the world’s best players, all top clubs would want you. Of course a legend like Maldini will have great influence. But you would want to play CL. And let’s not forget, other top teams have plenty of legends as well who can persuade the players.
But indeed, it is a shame to not have Maldini in our management.
I’m not too fond of hiring ex players for roles other than playing. There is no telling if he would be a good scout. Does he know the poor neighborhoods of brazil like the back of his hand? I would rather hire a top brazilian club coach that knows the territory and speaks the lingo.

Also, yeah, Galliani lost his touch in the last days. Of course what he did in the past alongside Milan legends, is legendary. But maybe it would have been better to step down when you are still at the top and get first hints of declining. Give chance to younger people in the management.
Anyway, still, hopefully Galliani will have a great new adventure. I am sure many of us will miss hating and blaming you.
We still thank you for what you have done for Milan to make it great Mr Galliani!
Enough Said… Please LEAVE.. thank you
