Vincenzo Montella seems to have decided to keep the 4-3-3 and will play Giacomo Bonaventura in attack so that leaves room for a fit Andrea Poli in the midfield.
There were reports that with Juraj Kucka and M’Baye Niang both suspended for the Udinese match, coach Montella considers switching to 4-4-2 with Carlos Bacca and Gianluca Lapadula in attack.
But the recent news suggest that Montella will be sticking to 4-3-3 and have Giacomo Bonaventura take Niang’s role with Suso and Bacca completing the attack.
In midfield, Riccardo Montolivo will play in the regista role and will have Jose Sosa on his side. The two, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Italia’s Peppe Di Stefano, will be joined by Andrea Poli who is now fully fit after suffering from a muscle strain; he’s preferred over Mario Pasalic.
There is no decisive word on whether Gustavo Gomez or Gabriel Paletta will play alongside Alessio Romagnoli, although today’s Gazzetta gives the edge to the Argentine-born Italian.
