Rodrigo Caio, who is considered in the media as ‘the new Thiago Silva’, is reportedly the first target of the Chinese Milan who are looking to strike a deal already this summer; there’s competition.
Milan signed Gustavo Gomez from the Argentine champs Lanus this summer but are already thinking about adding a new center back to the squad – but in January.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia, with the new owners and the influx of Chinese money expected to arrive for the January market, the Rossoneri are interested in signing Sao Paulo’s 23-year-old center back Rodrigo Caio.
Caio, who is a starter for the Brazilian Olympic side who yesterday beat Honduras 6-0 in the semi-finals, is wanted by Sevilla for this window but Milan are trying to find an agreement with Sao Paulo that will allow them to keep Caio until January before sending him to Milan in 5 months.
The defender is expected to receive a European passport by the end of August. He will play the final of the Olympics against Germany on Saturday, August 20th in hope to win the Gold Medal.
