The President of the Argentine club believes Milan have made an important signing by getting Gustavo Gomez and says Fiorentina and EPL clubs wanted him.
After the visa situation has been resolved, new signing Gustavo Gomez trained with Milan today (Friday). The 22-year-old center back joined for a reported €8.5m from Argentina champions Club Atlético Lanús; and their President, Nicolas Russo thinks Milan did well to sign him.
“If Gomez is ready for the jump from Argentina to Milan? Without a doubt,” Russo said in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb. “Gustavo is an extraordinary player, very strong and certainly ready to face this new adventure. His main strengths? His aerial game and his challenges.
“Gomez has a winning mentality and will be Milan’s first choice defender for the next 10 years. Other teams were interested in him? Fiorentina and several Premier League clubs wanted him.”
