Rodrigo Ely will return to Italy early after picking up a thigh injury in training.

The club confirmed on Saturday that the defender sustained an injury during the tour in the United States and is therefore ruled out for the matches against Liverpool (tonight 04:00 CET) and against Chelsea (4th of August, 03:00 CET).

“AC Milan announces that during the training at San Francisco State University the 28th July, Rodrigo Ely has suffered an injury to his left thigh flexor,” a statement reads.

“The player will fly back to Italy and will undergo medical exams to verify the extent of the injury.” With Ely out of the rotation, it’s likely that Primavera’s Ivan De Santis will get some minutes.

Must be getting sold!!

Hope all goes well with him
