Antonio Nocerino is weighting up his options and declined a move to Turkey as Milan are looking to add another young midfielder to the mix but face competition for Alberto Grassi.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, yesterday (Thursday) Adriano Galliani had a meeting with Atalanta President Antonio Percassi.

The two talked about the 20-year-old midfielder Alberto Grassi, who has 13 appearances to his name this season. Di Marzio states that this was more than a simple inquiry and says that Atalanta have asked to include former Primavera striker Andrea Petagna in the deal should anything happen this January.

Petagna is currently playing on loan at Ascoli where he’s scored 4 goals in 16 matches so far. In any case Fiorentina and Napoli are also interested in the Under 21 man who grew up in the youth sector of Atalanta. So if Milan want to close the deal they will have to work fast to beat the competition.

Meanwhile Nocerino is on the way out. Turkey’s Antalyaspor made him an offer but he declined as he wants to stay in the peninsula. Malaga, Getafe, Lazio & Panathinaikos are interested too.

Guys, does anyone know is this Grassi a good player? I have seen him once and he didnt have much inpact on me, he is good for sure, but he doesent seem to be ready for Milan yet…

We need midfielder who would fit in the team now, not in 3 years…

honestly,in my opinion Gomez Alejandro would perfectly fit in milan rather than grassi. just thinking loud ,it appears that true fans actually cue players like Banega,Witsel et al than the management. Milan is desperately in need of a defence and midfield reinforcement. i hope they are reading this as our hearts are undying true to the red and black….FORZA MILAN

I do not think he is any better than Mauri. So what is the point of bringing him here??

Grassi was brought in to replace Baselli at Atalanta and he has done a great job. According to La Gazzetta, his value increased from 1 million to 15 million in just 6 months. In other news, Milan reject a 30-40 million bid from Manchester United for Gianluigi Donnarumma.
