Mihajlovic wants another midfielder and the Sampdoria man could be an option as there are difficulties in signing Zenit’s Axel Witsel.
The market is of Milan is over, at least for now, but the press and the fans expect them to make one or two more signings before the end of the market and if they can’t get Ibrahimovic then a midfielder could be the only additional arrival.
Witsel has been on Milan’s mind for quite some time but they are reluctant at this point to match Zenit’s €35m valuation of the Belgian and are studying alternatives.
As reported by Alfredo Pedulla of Sportitalia last night and La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, Milan are now in pole position for Sampdoria midfielder Roberto Soriano. A phone call between Adriano Galliani and Samp President Massimo Ferrero took place and this – adding to the fact that Soriano worked with coach Sinisa Mihajlovic last season – puts Milan in front of Napoli and Juve.
Soriano, 24, would cost Milan €10 million (his release clause) and that is of course considerably less than what Witsel, 26, would. It remains to be seen what Milan will do from now until August 31st.

Miha wanted him to stay but EL92 wanted to secure his place for Azzuri 2016 EURO squad. The only way to do that is to make sure that he will be starting and play regularly. There is no guarantee for that at Milan. Moreover, playing him as a midfielder won’t give El92 justice to show what he can do. So you are saying keep EL92 and ruin his chances to play in UERO?
Let’s see how his decisions work during the season. I have much more faith in him than Inzaghi or Seedorf.

We probably can’t afford how much PSG would make us pay for him. The world knows how good he is and how much of a future he’ll have, so if Milan have any chance, it’s probably going to be another window where we could focus all our efforts (and money) on him. That would be amazing though.

This is great news. We already have an amazing midfield consisting of Bertolucci, Poli, Montolivo, Bonaventura, Mauri and now we’re adding the mighty Soriano?! This is just the signing we need – a genius on the ball who will add that missing creativity to the team and send Milan back to the top. The whole of Europe – Barca, PSG, Juve, Bayern, etc. – will be trembling with fear once we announce this.

Why would we need another CB? we have 6 CBs, which is too much probably too much, unless someone’s ok with sitting on the bench regularly OR if 2 or 3 get injured. Everyone keeps spitting out those names, without ucl football we can’t attract them. Serie a isn’t as respected as it once was and that’s why I was rooting for juve in the ucl final and other Italian teams in Europe. We are lucky we have such a great history because that has resulted in decent players interested in joining us regardless of our circumstances. but that doesn’t always work for the highest of quality. If we get top three this year, then we can dream of those players.

Soriano is a modern dynamic midfielder, not the crazy creative player but a Vidal type that brings energy, dynamism and a bit of creativity in a team, he’s a very good ball winner and hard worker. I watched Soriano couple of times for Sampdoria last season and for Italy against England in last friendly and i tell you what…. England began playing when Soriano was substituted. IF you say all these things, it sounds promising. But if it comes down to choosing between Soriano and Witsel, we all know who we all would choose right? Because i seriously doubt us signing both of us. And i think Witsel will improve our midfield more than what Soriano would. What do you think?

You can’t compare the Bpl to serie a. And not based on quality, I love serie a and think it’s very competetive. It’s the exposure and coverage of the Bpl that draws a lot of players. It is an overrated league because it has excellent TV coverage, in depth pre game and post game analysis, highlight show, the stadiums are always packed. I’d love to see soriano in the milan midfield. He’s a good player and can only improve. If you guys say he’ll become another poli then you might be very wrong. Had juventus been afraid to have another milos krasic,then they would’nt have pogba and sturaro in their team right now. And remember poli has’nt got a permanent position in the milan midfield since he arrived he has had to play in different positions accross the midfield with different assignments.
Soriano is not needed, we’re fully loaded in his position and we have youngsters like Mauri that need to be developed over the coming season. We need creative midfielders that can link the midfield and attack and why isn’t anyone talking about Franco Vazquez of Palermo, that guy was great last season

Bacca left sevilla with cl football and joined milan. Luiz adriano had alot of suitors including roma…all with cl but he joined us. Bertolacci suppose to be in roma squad for cl but he joined us. Im not clear at what soriano does as i dont follow sampdoria. But the need of the hour is to have a midfielder who can pick a player and make a pass (like pirlo, but playing in a more advanced role) we dont need any more runners in the squad as we have plenty. Soriano is a good player and if that’s who were pursuing then that’s fine, but I’d prefer someone like witsel or gundogan. Bringing either of those 2 would complete our midfield. As for a cam I think we need one but I can tell that if we get another player like soriano there won’t be another purchase for midfield. After we try getting another midfielder I think the transfer market will be closed for us unless ibra comes
