Official: Rami joins Milan on a three-year deal

ADIL RAMI is officially a player of Milan despite last night’s problem and controversy: the Frenchman has got his wish.

The long saga is finally over and at last Milan and Valencia have reached an agreement over the transfer of the defender Adil Rami, who also played a big part in the negotiations, agreeing to reduce his wages in order to facilitate a move.

It was a long case with many ups and downs but the important thing for Milan and Rami is that they will continue to be together. Adil started playing for the Rossoneri in January (he had been training with them since October) and fell in love.

Yesterday it seemed as though the talks have collapsed and Rami even tweeted that at the moment it’d be difficult for him to stay and that he has to train with Valencia. However, an agreement was reached last night between the two sides, and Rami, 28-years-old, put pen to paper on Saturday morning and is now tied to the red and black shirt until the year of 2017.

“AC Milan would like to communicate that it has bought Adil Rami from Valencia CF. Rami has signed a contract with the club until the 30th June 2017,” a statement on Milan’s website reads today. The deal that was agreed between the Italian and Spanish clubs is the following: €4.25m will be paid to Valencia in 3 installments. Milan in fact offered Valencia €3.75 mil and so Rami agreed to take a €0.5m pay cut to bridge the gap between the two sides and make his wish come true.

This is an important move for Milan as Rami was their best defender in the second part of the season. Adil, who will keep his #13 shirt, will be playing at the heart of Filippo Inzaghi’s defense alongside Alex, who arrived from Paris Saint-Germain.

Am very happy… This is a good news to all Milanisti…

billyf5

rami!!! you love Milan and we love you!!!

chrisrossoneri

Good news for Rami but all the big clubs are chasing top players and Milan cant sign no big name. Unfortunately I am afraid that really top class players don’t want to join Milan anymore because they feel that we have turned into a mid-table team and no one calculate us… Milan need money to invest and buy players, not Galliani’s free transfers.
We have to get back in top!

Unamused Observer

The only way Milan could sign better players is Berlusconi freeing up some funds. Yes,without much funds Galliani is powerless on the market.

It’s just like walking into a supermarket. You know whereby rich folks are buying well branded cereals whereas you on the other hand have to settle for some no label cereal because you have little money to spend.

Glory

Good! Let’s get Griezmann, forget about cerci.

Alex44

THIS IS HOW YOU SHOW DEDICATION FOR MILAN!
A TRUE MILANISTI!
We need more players like him!

Yadi

GK :Agazzi. DR : Abate. DL: De Sciglio. DCL : Rami. DCR : Alex. : DMC : De Jong/Medel. CM : Montolivo. CM : Banega/Gago. RWF :Lamela/Cerci. SC:Leandro Damiao. LWF : El Sharaawy/Menez.

thanks Rami, almighty GOD shall reward u 4 dis, whish u nd Milan d best of luck, more trophies nd more reputation in d europe nd domestic,FORZA MILAN

Offliner

Where are the haters who commented yesterday on Galliani and the club??? I am not hearing your VOICE!!!!

I am happy you made my day Forza Milan!!!

Unamused Observer

Lmao….They are quick to type smack about Galliani the least opportunity they get.

Offliner

Well my friend check below and see that ppl here still not giving Galliani any credit on this.. he bought a player with almost half of the clause-out fees and still talking about 500K paid by Rami.

I am wondering when these ppl will become objective and stop playing Fantasy Football.

nattimalta

I dont know what Milans transfer bugdet is but at the moment the transfer market is going pretty well, even though the sale of Pacifico is still making me wonder..and I’d have preferred that Matri and Birsa left permanently. Cristante can fill in the injured Montolivo and we should really look at Baselli and Gago or even Banega from Valencia. Niang has Pippo’s faith. Iturbe and Griezmann over Cerci any of those 2 and a creative midfielder and a box to box could lead Milan to some glory. Loan out Gabriel and get Marchetti for 7.5 + Agazzi

rrrr8

If we can’t get Iturbe then Milan should go for Griezmann. But if Milan cant afford Griezmann then Milan should go for taarabt and not Cerci…

rossonerisiamonoi

Taarabt should play for us , proven player on the pitch , and cheap …wtf?

triniboy

yadi what about honda in squad and balo

Hondanori

Oh my God… This is real love for the “Red and Black” shirt, now u just succeeded in stealing the heart of the fans completely… A real leader, a real champion, thank you, we love you!
Defensively, we can have a fantastic season, I’m sure of this… Now unto the next one… Greizman?

Unamused Observer

Very glad! Finally,Rami is fully a Milan player now. But i guess Valencia director wasn’t that tough after all. lol He caused a little stir when news first broke about his change of plan in Milan’s payment, which apparently had fans jawing off at Galliani frugal market tactics.Typing all the smack they could about him. Galliani a genius, you gotta give him that.Once Berlusconi lifts the blockage of not spending on Milan then i would want to see Milan change Galliani.Other than that,i don’t see any person who would do a better job than Galliani considering Milan’s chief unwillingness to spend at… Read more »

I agree with the most of the words you say but dont expect big things concerning transfers, as Galliani said no GK or defender will join us and Iturbe probably will go at Juventus, and Griezmann is being chased from all top Premier League clubs. The best we could achieve is Cerci if someone leaves.
Just remember that last year we lost Ljajic from Roma for 10 mil about, so no hope to compete with Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd for Griezmann

Kwabena Adu

The guy just cut off 0.5m of his money to join the club and some people are still here praising Galliani for doing what?

Unamused Observer

Was his price tag 0.5m? lol

Henriano

Galliani will never stop surprising us either good or bad,but this is fantastic from galliani,nw we are going to have another nesta-silva partnership by jearsey number,13-33.next is to sell balo and robinho and bring in jackson and cerci or griezman. ”no lazy and non committed player will make my team”

rrrr8

sorry but Nesta is better than ALL of our current defenders…

Milanista121

No defender can be compared to grande Nesta. Especially at this day of age where defending becomes more and more neglected (the world cup is the perfect example of it) It’s just blasphemy to do that.

Milanista121

Finally! I love his commitment for the shirt, absolutely love it. More players like him are needed, because you know they will bring their all to the Rossoneri shirt!
All the best of luck to you Rami! Forza Adil!
Now let’s hope to get rid of some players and hopefully add 1-2 more quality players. I find it hard to see Cerci or someone arriving with Niang still here.

Milan fan

Why are you guys celebrating like Thiago Silva returned ?
Rami is no better than Zapata or Mexes.

Milan needs young talents like:Perin,Vrsaljko,Griezmann…..not free worn off players.

billyf5

if you believe rami is same with mexes just go back to school…!

Pa ibra

glad he’s signed but its not nice to see milan unfairly relying on peoples love and desire to wear their shirt. its offensive as taking advantage of a drunken woman. kojac youre not a gentleman. forzaa rami!!! and thankyou for the 0.5 M

Realness

I agree. I thank Rami but am embarrassed he had to cut his wages to make a difference in a 4mill transfer.

delima

Adil rami u ar fully welcome,i wish u the best of luck we believe u can mk d different?

jibola

Because Valencia decided ti soften up on their ground doesnt mean Galliani has done some magic, they just let him gi “fairly”.

After Rami’s signature, Galliani is a star again. He definitely has your remote control and would fool you forever if you dont change your mentality about the liar. He’s of no use to us again. Imagine Milan suddenly became a club where a player has to pay from his pocket to come to Milan. SMH

Diavolo

Thumbs Up! Absolutely the case. A very sad one for now. Classic case of taking advantage of a players dedication and wish to be at a club.

Tirolese

Im so glad he stays! he is one of the players with the motivation milan need right now! he is proud to wear red and black! he is not one of the spoiled ones like too much of this squad!!!

zizipus

Andrew ayew may join milan

dejan10

About time… Now all we need (after 7 years) is a solid LB.

And I will be hater to every one that have been made the mighty milan just like a bunch of mediocre player, you said galliani cnt spend coz milan didn’t have money? Just open your eyes in tevez case!!! They said don’t have 10m, then they spend 12m to garbage like matri!! And, I sugest you to read about the lst of rich football club in the whole world, and where is milan in that list? I know ppl like you… Read more »

Welcome, Rami!

I guess we’ll have a way better defense this year then last year. In fact, if we sign a left back, then we’ll have a true defense, which we didn’t since Nesta and Thiago Silva left.

thatwatguy

Great news! This was a vital buy to be made, and I’m glad the deal went through. Rami is a great talent and I’m looking forward to a better defense this campaign. Forza Milan!
