Report: Alex to pen 2-year deal, Menez to sign contract to 2017

36

THE PSG duo looks set to join Milan this summer, both on Bosman transfers according to reports in the peninsula.

Ciro Immobile’s agent said Italian clubs can’t compete with big European clubs for players anymore and it’s now become obvious that Milan are in a market of their own where the idea is to scout for opportunities instead of for young players.

Michael Agazzi has already signed for free and Milan are now seriously interested in signing 2 Paris Saint-Germain players whose contracts expire in 27 days and they seem to have made serious progress for Alex da Costa and Jeremy Menez.

Galliani and Inzaghi meet Menez and his agent
Milan want to sign Alex & Rami, Mexes to join PSG?

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the meeting Adriano Galliani and Filippo Inzaghi had with Menez and his agent in Ibiza today proved to be fruitful and the sides agreed on the duration of Menez’s contract at Milan. The former Roma man, as reported by the online version of the Milano-based newspaper, will sign a three-year deal with the Rossoneri, until 2017.

Menez could become helpful for Milan as Adel Taarabt’s signing doesn’t seem so obvious. il Diavolo are hoping that Queens Park Rangers will agree to sell Taarabt for about half the price that was agreed in January when Adel’s loan with option to be bought was agreed. In addition to Taarabt, Kaka’s future is uncertain as MLS clubs are keen to sign him, Riccardo Saponara could go on loan and Keisuke Honda might also leave (according to today’s il Corriere dello Sport).

Meanwhile Alex’s agent Kia Joorabchian is in Milano and Galliani will meet with him this evening. Gazzetta.it reports that Alex, soon to turn 32-years-old, will sign a two-year deal and reports suggest that he’ll earn €2.5 million net per season. Milan are also still waiting for Valencia’s answer regarding their €3.8 million for the 28-year-old center back Adil Rami.

Alex’s representative Joorabchian also takes care of the interests of Taarabt so Galliani could use the opportunity to negotiate for him tonight when they talk about Alex. Milan Channel reports that Alex and Rami do not rule each other out.

Menez,Elsha,Tarabt,Kaka would be great 4 ..but we need to count for the injuries too so we need them all ..Dejong has to stay when Monto is out for 6 months ..

Alex is great free signing but we need Rami to stay

Berlusconi schould made this summer as best as he can and after we are stable then we can chill and do free or cheap signings ..

Anyways my dream is to have one top Italian Cb and Goalkeepr (perin) in Milan ..

Forza Milan

I’m actually okay with signing Alex to be honest, if it’s for two seasons. Menez however…how about no. He’s inconsistent, and too egoistic. He has shown zero sign of improvement since his Roma days. Why can’t we rely on Saponara? Our so called youth project is a joke.
Oh well, I hope Darmian will join us in defence and we can probably dream on about Cerci if Menez signs. Hope the Taarabt deal will come through so we don’t sign Menez.
And then I hope we’re swift with selling/releasing our mediocre players.

berlusconi ” we want to sign players” instead of we want to sign free players. 10th position await next season. forza Milan.

I will not judge any player until i see their performance and effect in the squad. Menez, Alex.. am all good to go since this is the faith we have to accept as supporters of that free transfer and loanee club called AC FreeLoan.

The ppl judging menez is really high. He was definitely one of the better performer of Roma. He scored his season best scoring for psg in the following year. It was obvious after psg got Ibra, cavani, lavezzi, Lucas there was no place for him. It wasn’t bad form, it just you play your best world class players. And with the forwards hitting top form it was really bad luck. Any player wud have been egoistic in these circumstances. From top scorer to the bench!!! For clear example, dzeko for mancity wud not get any chance unless aguero got injured.… Read more »

Menez and alex are ok compare to the likes traore, the present essien, birsa and matri the 11m euro man.but the problem now is that all the dutch are about to park their bags out of milan, urby is gone, seedorf almost gone and now de jong has stated he will have to make decision either to stay or to leave, his word ” seedorf did a fantastic job with players that are not his own,but football in italy is politics,am 29yrs and needs to know the project of milan for next season before i take a decision”. In a nut shell, this guy is fed… Read more »

But guys, listen, we’re AC Milan, we shouldn’t settle for “okay” players who were benched because there were other players who are better, we should have the BEST ones, or at least amongst the top and being world class. I know this isn’t the reality for us anymore due to our economic situation, but that’s why we should be wise to actually stick to our youth project. If we can’t buy the best players, we can at least mold and bring through the best ones! Might take time but it will be worth it, at least you know that there… Read more »

I don’t know why but it seems like great players become lazy at Milan not performing at all. We would buy CR7 plus Luis Suarez bt they won’t score goal like they did before being bought. Kinda of Torres story at Chealsea

What is going on now is synonymous to kaka’s situation before we won the 2007 CL…how Maldini Nesta gattuso and the likes talked about the 2003 finals and wining the champions league got him so enthralled and wished it could happen again….to us now…We hear about when ac dominated the whole Europe….The demolition of barca in 1994 and so on…like kaka…We get so fascinated by that, hoping our beloveth white and red emblem will turn up europe once again….unlike kaka’s wish it’s never gonna happen with this mercato…We all need to snap out it….

Menez is ok but Alex? There is a reason why he is free. PSG don’t care. Milan should offload Mexes and get Marquinhos from PSG if they want a defender from PSG or better yet just promote Pacifico or Iotti from the Primavera. Of course that is what every other top European Club does but not Milan .

I dont like this at all sure Menez is better than robinho but there are better choices Alex is not the defender we need…i am really dissapointed but not surprised for each day that passes and i read things like this i support the team less day by day and i have supported this club for 17 years so dont say im not a real Milanista from the beggining but its fading now sadly because of some senile old men

@Anthony: Actually, Alex took Marquinhos spot on PSG’s starting line-up. But tell me, what’s the price getting Marquinhos at this time and would it be a reality? As much i would like to have Marquinhos, i know it won’t happen.

CAN AC MILAN QUALIFY TOO ANY EUROPEAN COMPITITION WHEN THE SEASON BEGIN?(NO NO NO).i just realise why this man want to get rid of mr Doff bcos he will not accept all these stupidity transfer instead of the fans too start complaining they are praiseing him for getting them the waste product of some club

Alex is a solid defender so I don’t know what some people are complaining about. Okay Menez is no Donadoni but he’s okay. For free signings they’re pretty good. I just don’t understand why we have to rely on free signings when Berlusconi is the seventh richest man in football.

The same pattern as in the last four years. But Rami, Alex, Menez and Taraabt look like better than last year transfer for Birsa, Essien, Zaccardo, Traore, and Constant.

I hope Milan can sign Perin, Darmian, Paletta, Cerci, Paulinho, and Dzeko completing De Sciglio, Abate, Rami, Alex, Bonera, De Jong, Montolivo, Cristante, Poli, Muntari, Kaka, Honda, Pazzini, El-Shaarawy, Taraabt, Menez, and Paloschi

PSG let both go due to FFP rules and last penalty and they need to reduce their wages. Thats why are left without renewal.
Same as Milan, they will release Mexes to get rid of his 4 Million salary.

I am seeing those two signings in addition to Adel and Rami as a good start after getting rid of all dead weights. A huge makeover must be done to release the stress from Milan for a fresh start.
