Kaka: “Milan can do well, I want to rediscover the joy of football”

RICARDO KAKA was presented today at Milanello and said he wants to rediscover the joy of football at Milan.

Four years after he left the club and joined Real Madrid’s Galácticos 2.0, Kaka was presented to the press for the second time in his life as a player of Milan. The times have changed and the circumstances are different, but the love is still there.

Milan managed to sign Kaka for free and have brought back one of the biggest fans’ favourites in Milan’s history. Ricky believes the squad of Milan can challenge for honours and wants to play with consistency and fall for the game again.

“It has been very nice to come back. These are special days. Yesterday I spoke with my wife and I thought about 10 years ago when I arrived here in another situation but the good times seem the same,” said Kaka, 31, who sat next to vice President and CEO Adriano Galliani. “Seeing all the people at Milanello gave me the feeling that I have never gone away.

“When I first came I learned a lot from the players with more experience and now it’s up to me to take the role of the veteran. I do not know for how many seasons (he signed a two-year contract) but I want to help these guys and learn as much from them as well. The time at Real Madrid? I never had consistency at Madrid over these four years even though I’d hoped to have it. I have not been injured for a long time so I am fit and ready for this challenge. I am used to a winning Milan.

“I think this team can do well. My choice was dictated by the possibility of rediscovering the joy of playing football and at this point I can do it at Milan. The time at Real Madrid was a good experience. From a professional point of view it did not go as I wanted. During these moments I had to learn so much. Real is a great club and I am happy to have been part of its history. I had lost the joy of playing football and I think that Milan is the right place. Real had some very specific ideas and there was less and less room for me and we agreed with (Real Madrid and former Milan coach Carlo) Ancelotti about my departure.

“It was not Mourinho’s fault that I was not playing. During the years in which I worked with him, I tried to have his confidence but he had other ideas. I’ve always worked well. But he is not to blame. He gave me so much in so many ways.

“The video I uploaded to my Instagram of the fans around my car? Today, with all the social networks we can send out our emotions. You will never be able to fully realize what I felt but I think you understood. My role at Milan? Before speaking of roles I want to hear what the coach (Allegri) needs and we will definitely find a solution. I think Balotelli is a great player and I think I can do well with Matri as well as Robinho, El Shaarawy. There are great players and very good attackers here.

“The expectations? I do not feel the weight. I can say that I will do everything possible to play well and make the fans happy. Milan can win in Italy and do well in Europe. There are winning players, who are used to the pressure. I think that we will fight for the title. We are among the seven best teams in Europe. We want to win. Let’s see what happens at the end.

“Brazil? I have not spoken with Scolari and Parreira about my choice. I heard from President Berlusconi, he was very happy and he sent me his good wishes. My dad has done very well. He defended my interests. Negotiations began at 5 pm and went on to midnight with all data. I talked to my wife. Then I was told that I should go. I called 5 times Galliani at 2:30 (in the morning) and he did not answer and then he (finally) did. (laughs). When he answered I told him I was coming back.”

Kaka had his ‘first’ training with Milan today in front of 500 fans that came to Milanello. He’s expected to play in the friendly game Milan will play against Gianluca Zambrotta’s Chiasso; he’ll probably play behind the forwards or a 2nd striker.

It’s unreal and amazing to have Kaka back, but at the same time, it never felt like he left us, as I always knew deep inside that he would come back to us. He will do great.
On another note, Saponara is also back in training now, although he did not participate in the last phase of training, neither did Kaka. What an amazing feeling it must have been for him to train with his idol!
Forza Milan!

Galliani is one hell of a man.

I love and hate him. He brought Kaka back home and now I seem to have forgotten all the bad of this transfer period. Kaka will help the combination and understanding between Bolatelli ,El Sharaawy and Saponara going forward.

Forza Kaka. Forza all de players of Milan. We are all having so much fun nowadays and I am really enjoying de season We have started our season with Cagliari and so far we are doing well. Balotelli can score 50 goals this season because he will receive wonderful passes from a true trequartista, Ricky Kaka. I am not a footballer but that arrival has really enlightened me and I feel so good. I know it has inspired the players too. Barcelona should wait and see. All Milanistas should also pray for Allegri bcos now we have a strong team… Read more »
