NIGEL DE JONG has been ruled out for 5-6 months after picking up a serious injury against Torino.
Milan beat Torino earlier today 2-4 at Stadio Olimpico di Turin but they lost Nigel De Jong to injury and the Dutchman will not feature again this season, as confirmed by the media and Coach Massimiliano Allegri.
De Jong left the pitch after just 22 minutes of football and even the initial reports indicated of a severe injury. Milan later confirmed through their site that De Jong has suffered damage to the Achilles tendon.

“It’s just a terrible shame about De Jong, who will be out for the rest of the season, and of course all the lads dedicate the win to him,” Milan boss Allegri told the press at the end of the game. “We’ll see what to do about De Jong’s role in January, but we do have Muntari, Ambrosini and Flamini.”
De Jong joined Milan in the summer from Manchester City in the final days of the mercato for less than €4 million. In the last weeks he had finally started to show his true worth but he won’t play again this year. The 28-year-old defensive midfielder scored one goal for Milan this year.

The injury is a rupture of the Achilles tendon which has nothing to do with training, milanlab or allegri..
This is football and injuries do happen.. Not evrything is somebody’s fault, sometimes it’s just bad luck!

This is incredible…he had just become the old De jong that we all knew, and now this happens…sure Ambro and Muntari are great, but they can’t do it throughout the entire season…muntari is also a liability, De jong had adapted perfectly now…just our luck…this sucks

Me neither, but I guess we should find space for Strasser too. I hope Muntari does well in that position when he returns.
I suspect Muntari using Black magic so that he can start playing ones he returns in January.

we tried that already with Montolivo in front on the defence but as we saw he didn’t have did defensive capabilities so handle that role, i think Nocerino would do better even though he would never play there
i also think Stra*sser deserves to be given a chance who can also play in De Jong’s position but currently Muntari is our best replacement for him and Cristante could be a possible option who has played in defence this season too

now it’s time for strasser. ihope allegri will use. the coppa match is the ideal point for him to shine. if you shows what he can then he will also start in the league

the best option for his spot would be Boateng but Allegri wouldn’t dream of making an attacking move and sacrificing his favourite playmaker so Muntari is probably second best. As long as he plays conservatively like De Jong and NEVER “shoots”

his sheer tenacity and determination to win the ball back will be missed. he was really improving and i loved seeing his slide tackles to win the ball back. once i saw the pain on his face, i knew he was too tough for that to be a minor injury. get well soon

That could mean Pastore for us, since he would get even less playing time. But it’s still just rumours for now.
yea i agree with Greg, send Boateng back to MDF then we shud try to get an AMF like Sneijder that can play in the champions league, if we go for Pastore, he cant play in the Champions league
Flamini is not impressing and Strasser has a long way to go
you cant say that. everyone deserve a chance. Would you know about El shaarawy if he wasn’t given the chance, and people keep saying he got a long way to go. Have you seen Strasser in training he is the best person for this role (mentally and physically). Milan defence is a bit suspect at the moment and you need someone that is discipline, and Strasser is for sure (Watch all the training)
Get Sandro from Tottenham Hotspurs to replace De Jong! Get rid of Flamini, Mesbah, Didac Vila, and Traore!

Abate/Sciglio,Mexes,Zapata/Acerbi, Constant/Sciglio
Montolivo,Muntari/Ambro,Nocerino/Boateng
Robinho,Pato/Bojan,SES
Nocerino could also play in front of the back 4 if required, and emanuelson can play as a left back or a right winger. Pazzini can be used until or if Pato returns to anywhere close to his old self. Yepes and Bonera should be used only sparingly as back-ups
We could try Abate in his position and leave Di Sciglio as a right back.
Abate could be great, he can defend, he can do his short pases and runs and he would´t need to cross the ball from lanks.

i hope milan could renew there interest in christian eriksson from ajax he is fast, technical nd young.. I think milan can still get him cheaper than pastore nd sneijder…. maroune fellaini is a perfect substitude for dejong….he even told his club dat he wants a bigger challenge,he scored eigth goals for his club this season

He will be operated by same surgeon who did Beckham couple years ago in Finland. One of the best around and I think De Jong might return before end of season, but probably would be best to let him return in summer preseason so there won’t be any setbacks.
i hope milan not buying anybody this january for de jong replacement. we still have some young blood who can play at de jong position and need a chance to show their worth.
