DJAMEL MESBAH will not stay at Milan with Palermo the favourites to land him in the next days.
Milan continue to sell players and Djamel Mesbah is very likely to become the next to leave Massimiliano Allegri’s side this summer as Palermo are keen to land the player and have already negotiated with Milan.
Milan tried to sell Mesbah to Torino earlier this summer but the player rejected a move. Djamel is not part of Allegri’s plans and Milan want to ship him elsewhere, and Galliani says they won’t try to replace him.
“There is a negotiation with Palermo. If we sell Mesbah then we won’t be bringing in a replacement,” Vice President Adriano Galliani told the press on Monday afternoon. Following that statement, Mesbah’s agent, Alessandro Lucci had a meeting with sporting director Ariedo Braida to discuss the Palermo possibility.
“We had a chat to understand the situation,” Lucci told Sky Sport 24 after the meeting in via Turati. “Palermo have followed the boy for a while. We will evaluate their offer now. We only had a quick chat with Milan.” Palermo have also confirmed negotiations are ongoing and the only thing missing right now is the agreement of the player.Sky reports that in addition to Palermo, some teams outside of Italy want Mesbah.
Mesbah joined Milan in January from Lecce and was never really impressive. Even if he rejects Palermo it’s unlikely that he will stay at Milan although this still remains a possibility. Developments are expected.
