ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has hands down won in the poll for the 2011/2012 season Player of the Season.

Milan will kick off the new season officially in a little more than a week as on July 9th the players will arrive to training ground Milanello for the annual get together and the official first training of the 2012/13 season.

The last season is long gone for some time now and we asked you in mid-May who was the best player of the 2011/2012 season. The results were not very surprising as one player won by some distance.

Galliani: “Thiago stays, Destro may arrive”
Dídac Vilà hopes for Milan stay

Thousands of people voted on the website and in the seventh and last place came Christian Abbiati with just 1.24% of the votes despite his good season. In sixth arrived Antonio Cassano with 1.79% of the votes; Cassano didn’t play for five months after his heart problem but proved more than vital every time he played.

Alessandro Nesta who decided to leave Milan after this season finished fifth with 3.86% of the votes following a season which at times showed he’s still world-class. Kevin-Prince Boateng came in fourth with 5.65% of the votes. Boateng was plagued by injuries and couldn’t play consistently. Antonio Nocerino who won the best summer signing poll came in third with 13.37% of the votes after a great season.

In second arrived the man of was very close to leaving for Paris Saint-Germain a couple of weeks ago – Thiago Silva with 17.4% of the votes following a year that showed he’s one of the best in the world. And the man who’s won the voting is…drum rolls… Zlatan Ibrahimovic! It was not really a competition for the Swede who beat all the other candidates with 54.36% of the votes. Ibrahimovic had a great season in which he finished as the Capocannoniere of the Serie A. The remaining 2.34% belong to the Other: option.

Ibrahimovic will hope to continue his fantastic 2011/2012 form also next season and get Milan back on winning ways after a year in which the Rossoneri had failed to win trophies. Can he win it again next year?

he’s our best since he started wearing our great uniform.ibra keep it up we love u

Mr Goph

I won’t say he didn’t deserve the award cuz he score 30+ goals. But people should know the difference between being the best player and scoring a lot of goals. Ibra was great no doubt but we all saw how our season fell apart when Silva got injured. Milan can survive without Ibra but not without silva.

Hahahah Whatever this poll wants to justify about the players, One should understand this is a team game although it is not a crime to give one player as a stand out, We all should understand that greater emphasis and focus is on Ibra and Allegri depends on him for everything upfront, He was our only option and the coach doesn’t give him a competitor. A striker can’t always be said that he is the important player but who protects our defense and fights hard because of mediocre team mates should really be considered as an Asset, Someone above have… Read more »

Ibra truly earn it…! He deserve it more than anybody else on the team.Without him…we’ll be on par with Siena.Psst….People keep bringing up Silva like as if we didn’t LOSE any match with him playing.
