Costacurta: “Milan trying to lure Nesta back”

7

ALESSANDRO COSTACURTA has revealed that Adriano Galliani is trying to convince Nesta to return.

Nesta’s contract with Milan officially expired at midnight and he is no longer a Milan player after 10 years in red & black. The future of the defender remains unclear and he is under the title of a free agent as of now.

Milan had offered Nesta a one-year extension but he decided to reject the Rossoneri’s offer. il Diavolo have signed Francesco Acerbi from Genoa as Sandro’s replace but Billy Costacurta says Milan still want Nesta.

“Galliani is trying to convince Nesta to return. He knows how important Nesta is, and he will keep on trying to convince him,” Milan’s legendary centre half Costacurta told Riviera Oggi. “If Galliani fails to convince Nesta, then the possibility of going to USA could return. But I understand if Nesta prefers going overseas.”

FC Toronto have recently admitted Nesta is one of the names in their notebooks. Sandro said many times that he’d love an experience at the USA but it seems that Milan still want him to play, a diminished role.

“I love coaching,” continued Billy. “But now my priority is Sky Italia (where he works as a commentator) for many reasons. Of course, if Milan called me it’d be a different story although I doubt that the club intends to part ways with Allegri. Only Milan can convince me (to return to coaching), or rather an experience abroad. The management of Milan was and is still the best in the word in terms of structure and organization.

“I didn’t like some of the words from certain Milan players. It seems that they have not understood the true value of the club they’re playing for.” Costacurta was perhaps referring to Antonio Cassano who claimed that he does not know if he’ll stay if Milan when Thiago Silva was close to signing for Paris Saint-Germain.

Costacurta is a legend at Milan and he was part of what some call the best defense of all time which consisted of Mauro Tassotti, France Baresi and Paolo Maldini. He left and retired after the 06-07 season.

Just imagine nesta back and milan play 3-5-2 formation,… With thiago_silva at the right, nesta at the middle and acerbi at the left… I cant wait 4 allegri to use that formation and make abate, didac. Antonini and others to rest…. forza-milan.

It is a physically demanding formation. I can’t see Nesta being able to do that twice a week for most of the season. Just look at Italy’s 1st and 2nd matches in the group, by mid of the second half all players are already worn out.

I hope dis is just a joke, bcos milan can’t rely on their ledgend 4ever,change is d only thing constant in life n milan must change its old players if they want 2 b taken seriously

Say it again boss…respect to you

I hope its true. Nesta is still one of the best defenders out there, he would really help the team, + he could help Acerbi to grow.
