CHRISTIAN ABBIATI is out for 10-15 days with a sprained right shoulder.
Milan have lost their first choice goalkeeper Abbiati to injury as tests showed today that Abbiati is suffering from a sprained right shoulder and will need 10-15 days to recover and be able to tack the field again.
Second-choice Marco Amelia is therefore set to play instead of the former Atletico Madrid man. Amelia has already played 90 minutes against Chievo, a game in which he did not need to do too much.
“A.C. Milan wishes to communicate that Christian Abbiati is suffering from a sprained right shoulder. Medical consultations have ruled out the possibility of surgery. The recovery time is estimated to be between 10 and 15 days.” a statement on acmilan.com reads. Abbiati trained separately today in Milanello.
The Rossoneri have already lost Alessandro Nesta to an injury. Sandro, Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf and Christian were the only ones to not train with the main group in today’s training session.
