Milan 4 – 4 Udinese

54

THE ROSSONERI’S LEAD at the top of Serie A could be cut to 4 points if Napoli win against Juventus tonight, after drawing 4-4 at home with Udinese! Udinese took the lead in the first half through Di Natale, but Pato levelled it before half time. Despite going 3-1 down, Milan fought back to make it 3-3 before conceding late on. The game was not over though as substitute Antonio Cassano got his second assist to make it 4-4 with just seconds to spare.

Milan lined up with a fairly changed side due to injury. Marco Amelia replaced the injured Abbiati, The pretty much unchanged back line saw Abate, Bonera, Thiago Silva and Antonini in front of the Italian keeper. Gennaro Gattuso, Clarence Seedorf and Rodney strasser were the three behind Robinho in midfield, with Pato up front with Zlatan Ibrahimovic – who returned from suspension.

The game started off with Udinese pressing Milan all over the field, really taking the game to the home side and making it very difficult for the Rossoneri. Despite Udinese looking the better side early on, it was Milan who first threatened to score, Alexandre Pato firing a shot just over the bar from the left in the 10th minute of the game.

Milan have precedence over Flamengo talents
AC Milan-Udinese: The Rossoneri squad

But then Udinese started taking the game by storm, and in the 25th minute, Goekhan Inler came close to giving the away side the lead – however, his long range drive narrowly went over the bar. Christian Zapata came close to making it 0-1 Udinese but his headed effort also went over the bar from Giovanni Pasquale’s ball in.

Udinese finally took the lead just 10 minutes before the end of the first half. Goekhan Inler struck goalwards but his shot deflected off the post, it fortuitously fell to the path of Antonio Di Natale though, who acrobatically volleyed it home to give Udinese the lead – there were some claims of offside but replays show that Luca Antonini kept him onside.

The goal did seem to wake up the rossoneri though – as they began to press hard for an equaliser. In the 40th minute, Zlatan Ibrahimovic blasted a free kick in to the wall, but three minutes later he received Ignazio Abate’s excellent cross, but was crowded out after bringing it down on his chest. Finally, he managed to deliver an inch-perfect cross to Pato, who finished well from inside the six yard box.

Despite starting off as the better side and coming close to taking the lead through a Robinho shot early on in the second half, it was Udinese who took the lead, Mauricio Isla crossed to the near post – however Alexis Sanchez was in the right place at the right time to header the away side into the lead.

As Milan pushed further and further forward for the equaliser, they were made to pay as Udinese scored on the counter. With two thirds of the game gone, Inler stole the ball from Clarence Seedorf, and then played an excellent ball through for Antonio Di Natale, who managed to shrug off Daniele Bonera, and slot the ball in to the back of the net.

With all hope seemingly lost, Antonio Cassano was brought on for the last 15 minutes, and although he wasn’t involved, Milan managed to pull one back within minutes of his substitution. The goal came from Thiago Silva whipping in a cross, which was deflected high up in to the air and over Samir Handanovic.

The Rossoneri completed an excellent comeback in the 81st minute, as Antonio Cassano managed to pick out Pato with a pass after picking the ball up from Thiago Silva, before the brazilian turned and fired the ball in to the bottom corner to level the scores! An excellent comeback!

Udinese were not down and out though – despite the late comeback they still had enough energy for one last attack, and as Isla delivered a cross in to the box after a counter-attack, Denis slotted home a would-be winner before injury time!

However, it was Zlatan Ibrahimovic who had the last say. In the 93rd minute, Ibrahimovic won a header, and knocked the ball down to the substitute Cassano. Cassano controlled the ball and slipped it back through for Ibrahimovic, who ingeniously turned the defender and slotted the ball in to the bottom corner.

This game had 2 key issues to consider. Firstly it further shows that Milan need a left back sooner rather than later – the entire defence bar Thiago Silva had a poor game, but Antonini in particular was poor. It also showed once again that Milan need a creative midfielder, however Milan cane take heart from the comeback, especially as it seemed all hope was lost – also, Cassano once again shone from the bench, which is another positive sign.

Best Moment: Ibra saving a point

Worst Moment: Denis’ goal to make it 3-4 for Udinese

Man of the Match: I’m going to give it to Cassano just for his instant impact.

Oscar

@Sohel Sharif

iHuntYou

Bonera and Seedorf did terrible. But Amelia had a terrible game also.

shokhak

fucking bonera play shit how many mistake he can make he just can not be fullback and antonini just can not be liftback they just can not defind honesly beacuse of bonera we nearly lost the game we realy need one fullback and one lift back to be honest bonera can not be a player for milan he must be sell soon]- thanx to pato and cassano and ibra we got the best atack guys wellcome cassano to milan

arya

well i missed this game unfortunetly but i was shocked when i got told ac milan were losing 1-3 but i was even more shocked to see ac milan draw 4-4. i have to say strasser is to young to start games, seedorf is to old to start games and allegri never uses all 3 subs soooooooooooooo annoying and i just dont like gattuso.

my new dream lineup is:And i still like montelongo hefin davies.

————————-Abbiati———————

Oddo————Nesta————-Silva—-Montelongo

Crazy game. Milan desperately need a good defender.
Strasser had a good performance. So did Cassano. Basically the defense really were awful, thus the 4-4. Because the front were able to catch up despite the defense crumbling like they did.

oscar

What a come back but honestly i think it showed clearly that Seedof, Bonera, Antonio and Amelia performed poorly. We really missed the Pirlo, Kevin and if Abbiati was the keeper today am not sure we would have conceded 4 goals……

sherbini

bonera and antonini are not milan class players they must leave. SEEDORF IS A VERY GOOD PLAYER AND HE IS T HE IS PART OF MILAN HISTORY BUT HE IS TOO OLD HE SHOULD RETIRE. ABATE IS NOT A RIGHT BACK OUT OF HIS POSITION. WE NEED TWO MILAN CLASS SIDE BACKS: VAN DER WIEL AND COENTRAO OR CRISCITO. WE ALSO NEED A GREAT CENTER BACK AS ASTORI.

Sheva7

Mr.Allegri why start with Bonera and Seedorf???
Strasser=rising star
Cassano=all now about his skills and he should play from the beginning
Pato=what can i say for this kid!!
T.Silva=i think is the best CB in Serie A and maybe the best in the world. Thiago Silva 4EVER IN MILAN
Ibra=IBRA-GOAL
Gattuso=Cuore rossonero
K.Prince=The our Prince
Flamini=In this year we see more from this player he play very good but he must play and not stay in the bench
*WE NEED CB and LB
and my plan 4-4-2

ABBIATI

D.LUIZ/Sakho T.Silva

ABATE Coentrao/Criscito

Flamini/Poli
P.Boateng Bale

Cassano

PATO Ibra

APM

it’s not Seedorf or Bonera’s fault. it’s up to the coach whether to play them or not. it’s all Allegri’s fault.

Sheva7

Cassano=all know* about his skills and he should play from the beginning

Sohel Sharif

Sheva7 u just missed out to mention Messi & C. Ronaldo….
We are not looking for galacticos, we tried to make galacticos…
Luiz, Coentrao, Bale, Sakho are over prized for milan….mention some cheaper like Criscito, Lazzari…or Free like Srna

Milan desparately need a LB and a world class center back. Bonera was AWEFUL! This is nothing new as both Bonera and Skoratis should never ever make it to the subsitute bench let alone the field! Milan need to get rid of both of them ASAP! Rafael Toloi, Sakho, Jan Vertonghen or Coates! Antonini was worthless as usual! He cannot defend to save his life! He is no different from Jankulowski or Coentrao! They are wingers NOT defenders! Milan needs defenders not wingers that also means NO GARETH BALE! Aly Cissokho or Criscito! Amelia was USELESS. Now we have two… Read more »

I am happy wit dis result. Finally Milan wud knw dat we need full backs and a centre back. Seedorf shud be relegated 2 d bnch. Bonera shud be sold! For God sakes!!!!

JGLMilan

Milan vs. Udinese= PURE DRAMA. It was a shocking game, as I saw Milan fall under Udinese’s pace and style…slowly receiving goal after goal. Luckily, we managed to catch up…and I say “Luckily”, because it was mere luck that we didn’t get more than 4 goals. The defense was just awful. Bonera is not that old, but I don’t think he has what it takes to play regularly in Milan’s defense…specially after watching him play today: A complete disaster, in every way possible. As I recall, he was involved in all goals we took. He just didn’t fit in the… Read more »

Thanx Oscar…can you also kill APM…bcoz this coach has taken this AC Madhouse to the top of the league…
Not to mention Ibra flopped @ Barca, Robinho in ManC, Boateng @ Portsmouth 1st half of the season…which we bought…

lukyno

lukyno

not bad but much old and it is reflected in his movement as well as today, with udine inler and so on had a chance and it should be understood in Milan that all have beautiful history, but not over 33 years because they send away, hit are young prey people, “and still call if we play or draw with Bonera Antonini so that there can be de vito albertazzi

Shervin

If I had a gun i would shot bonera
If was allegri i would use a dead donkey rather than bonera when nesta isnt available.
If i had the power i would shoot up bonera to the moon.

He isnt a right-back, he isnt a center-back hes not even a football player. He looks like a guy u meet in the church that say may god be with us.

Sorry but i had enough with this bonera

Ali

After January:

Abbiati.
Abate – Nesta – T.Silva – Criscito.
Lazzari – Gattuso – Boateng.
Cassano/Robinho.
Pato – Ibrahimovic.

DAMN

This match was crazy.Now we just need alot of new defenders and OLDSKOOL AC MILAN is BACK BABBBBBBY!

Hasan

Bonere is stupid…:(

Piruus

@Hasan

seedorf aswell.
only bad thing with milan right now is seedorf and bonera. I LOVED when the crowd “BUed” at seedorf. he had it coming for his low preformance.

Vangel - Macedonia

@Piruus

I personally didn’t like when the crowd “BUed” at Seedorf. He has given a lot for this club and we have to respect that. Yes he sucks this season but this isn’t the way we should treat him. After all he did for us we should be thankful. This reminds me when Barcelona fans BUed at Dinho in his last season with them. It was not a good sight. As someone previously said it’s not Seedorf fault it’s Alegris fault because he puts him in play.

Michael

milan would never of gotten a point if it wasn’t for T.Silva, monster at the back defended everything well, never got beaten (i espcially remember when he had 2 guys on him but got pass with mad skill). milan were screwed at 1-3 but T.Silva went on a run, ignoring a lot of players (because they wern’t doing it)does it himself, puts in a cross that got deflected into the goal. this is what inspired milan to push on to try and win the game, a lot of these comments don’t mention how monsterous T.Silva was in this game and… Read more »

now that you say it, i kinda feel bad for him. taking back what i said earlier 🙂

……………..!!!!!!!!!!!! seadorf and bonera…………..!!!!!!i just cant watch them play……………please please do something!!!!someone!!!!!!! do not let them play…….seadorf slow as always(recently)!!!!!bonera………its waste of time to write about him…….he was a marker when we conceded 3 goals….nothing else to say……!!!!!!!get rid of this twat!!!!!please…………..lost some money on our beloved team today……..!!!!doesnt matter 100% love for our club!!! just get rid of of: bonera, janku, oddo, seadorf, ambro(dont care hes a captain)………please!!!!!! 100%MiLAN!!!

kbw

we don’t stand a chance against tottenham if we keep bonera play from the start.
more play = more mistakes

Milanista

Yepes is still with us right? He is a million times better than Bonera. Yepes would be a starter if it wasn’t for Nesta, so why wasn’t he played?

Master

I’m confused with Allegri. Why o why he must started with slowdorf?! even we lost Flam, Ambro, Pirlo, and Boateng but we still had Merkel. Why not use him instead of slowdorf?! even Sokratis or Montelongo can play as MF and i’m sure they will play a lot better than slowdorf. And i think Cassano were better than Robinho. When he replace slowdorf, our attack increased than Robinho as a playmaker. The last thing, like all people said in here we need a new CB. Bonera is finished, and we must find new player for this position A.S.A.P! the easy… Read more »

I think seedorf was honestly Allegri’s only choice for midfield otherwise he would be fielding two inexperienced mid’s. I think a 4-2-2-2 formation would suit us now with strasser and gattuso as holding midfielders with cassono and robinho attacking mids, pato and ibra up front.

AOdac

Bonera and seedoft are traditional disaster of Milan so i don’t talk much about them.
however, Luca Antonini suck anyways.

we lose 5 game in this seasons so far.

He make mistakes in Juventus Roma and Ajax games then we lost.

last night, Udinese score 3 from 4 goals by attacking on his side. WFT

God save Milan. No doubt that we need to buy new left back or die.

gatoto

keep the spirit…

demon king!

just do it better next match

budi

at least we know that in the future matches, try to put more energetic midfield to cover the defense (with Nesta still out injured). Milan will have lots of this circumstances when important players got injured, esp. defender and midfielder and Allegri MUST find a solution quickly as first matches of 2011 shown that we need a quality holding midfielder.

ilkapitano

BONERA STUPIDIDIOT.. HE SHOULD PLAY AT SERIE C CLUB, HE’S TOTALLY A LOOSER.. SEEDORF U’RE DONE..GO TO MLS OR AL-AHLY!!

Student

Whats up Allegri : I heard you are very strict and optimistic about your choices and you want to see them work hard in training ,only then you give them a chance, else you are such a professional that you do bench the best and dont care about their past achivements. you like players who sweat for the team and run real hard , Enough said ,Bonera Seedorf Abate Antonini ,all your choices are as bad as you. what happened to Antonini of last season.If you dont like him ,please do what you are good at,KILL HIS PROFESSION. or you… Read more »

Anil

Again Milan failing to defend against team which has pace, energy…this was jus a trailer….imagine what will happen in CL with Spurs…Allegri wake up…don’t play Seedorf,Bonera..

Red and Black Blood

Guys, i now we’re very disappointed with the result.. but we have to admit that udinese plays well as well. they manage to find milan’s weaknesses, which is left part of our defence, and BONERA as a very slow player. Udinese knows that there’s no way they can get past T.SILVA, and manage to pull T.SIVA out from the penalty box and leave BONERA alone. The way i see it, its ANTONINI fault that he cant cover the left area so that T.SILVA has too back him up and leave the box.. Then, its only “a bonera” to beat.. Very… Read more »

Thanks to Bonera tha tell us we needed CB, to Antonini that tell us we needed LB, to Seedorf that tell us we needed CMF. Yes long time ago they’re good but that’s history. That only for sleeping story not for Seri A match. Please if we still want to bring CL thropy, Scudetto,& CI thropy, solve our problem. Buy or loan correct player. Forza Rossoneri.(^_^)

Jack

i don’t understand these ronadinho fanatics didn’t they get it yet, in their thick heads that he is gone? and they were also bitching abt allegri before for not playing youngsters look at the matches now and see who is playing. secondly for f*cks sake Allegri had to field that team yesterday cause the rest are injured. thirdly if any douche calls Milan’s playing style boring after yesterdays match that douche should know he or she or it is a waste of space and should die.

@Jack, don’t worry man, that’s just Student aka Ronnie2009. He is like a little kid, just ignore him and he will (hopefully!) go away
