MILAN are back! The Rossoneri netted 4 times in a stellar performance in their Serie A opener with lecce, and it could have easily been more!
On the day Ibrahimovic was presented as a Milan player, Ronaldinho rolled back the years with a sensational performance, the brazilian brought out all the tricks and seemed faster and sharper as he aided milan’s demolition of lecce, while Pirlo gave a masterclass in midfield. All of this, and Berlusconi was quoted as saying Milan could be in for Robinho too!
Alexandre Pato opened the scoring with a neat finish from the edge of the box, and fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva scrambled in the second not long later. Pato scored his second soon after, latching on to Dinho’s long ball and rounding the keeper. This meant Milan found themselves 3-0 up in less than 30 minutes against the Serie A newbies!
Pippo Inzaghi came off the bench for Marco Borriello (who had a goal disallowed for offside) to net the 4th, the veteran striker slotting it in past Rosati after some nice work from second half sub Gennaro Gattuso.
It was a great workout, Milan played some champagne football, some highlights include Ronaldinho beating 3 players then audaciously trying to score from the halfway line, Seedorf almost scored with a difficult volley from Pirlo’s delicious long ball, while the back 4 and Christian Abbiati were barely troubled throughout.
As of now, Milan top the table after a great start and 4 goals, with Ibrahimovic to come in to the side, surely things can only get better?
Best Moment: Pato’s second goal
Man of the match: Ronaldinho
