Antonini: Happy For 3rd Place

LUCA ANTONINI expresses his feelings on the race and AC Milan’s achievement of Champions League football next season.

The defender played in his regular role of left back in the game against Genoa. But the 27-year old had to be substituted in the second half due to an injury.

“I asked for the substitution in the second half when I felt a discomfort on my calf. I had already taken a knock during training during the week and today I felt a bit of pain so I prefered to stop, otherwise I would have risked a muscle pull.”

Luca then expressed his satisfaction with the 3rd place despite the defeat: “We are pleased to have won third place, shame that has come with the help of the result between Palermo and Sampdoria. It would be better to win the Champions League with a win ours.

“Today we still created many chances but unfortunately did not go well.

“Now we want to close the season well at the San Siro against Juventus in front of our fans.”
