AC MILAN are hosting ACF FIORENTINA on Saturday night when the clock strikes 8.45 at Stadio San Siro, as the Rossoneri’s third place is far from secured now.
The Rossoneri’s recent form divides with forlornness in or outside their home stadium. With this form, il Diavolo wrote themselves off the title race and now they are looking to secure the third place of the league.
The Viola’s Champions League dreams are officially over as they are too far from the fourth place. At the moment, the Gigliati want a place in the Europa League for the next season, as their form is pretty poor too.
In the last time the two sides met (Wednesday, February 24, 2010), Alberto Gilardino opened the scoring in the 14′ minute, but late goals from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (82′) and Alexandre Pato (90’+2) saved Milan day.
The defeats against Sampdoria two weeks ago and against Palermo last Sunday have deteriorated Milan’s situation from bad to worse, as now their Champions League place remains hanging on the balance.

With a certain fact that they will not participate in the Champions League two years in a row, the Viola still need to collect some points in order to achieve at least a place in the Europa League.
Fiorentina are correctly nine in the Serie A table, two points behind Genoa, AC Milan’s next opponents, with 46 points from 35 matches, and they are not looking so good. The visitors’ away form is of 4 wins, 5 draws and 8 losses.
With Prandelli move this summer maybe on the cards already (strong link with Italy), Fiorentina’s inconsistent have become a very bad season, in which, they are only a middle-table team.
