Cagliari Calcio-AC Milan: Win Or That’s It

CAGLIARI CLACIO are hosting AC MILAN on Saturday noon, when the clock strikes 3.00 in Stadio Sant’Elia, as the visitors will be looking to recover the bad run of results of late.

The hosts can be satisfied with their correct position – they are pretty much stuck in the middle of the table, with no real chance of Europa League place or a risk of ending the season in the relegation zone. Therefore, they’re safe.

Meanwhile, the visitors are still believing in ending the season in the first place, but after a run of bad results, it is very unlikely. Though, Milan, with many injuries, will fight as hard as possible in order to find the three points.

In the last time the two sides faced each other it was a real carnival of goals. It ended 4-3 to the Rossoneri in Stadio San Siro. Clarence Seedorf scored in the 5′ minute, Alessandro Matri made it 1-1 in the 9′ minute, then Andrea Lazzari took the lead in the 30′ minute, Marco Borriello equaled eight minutes later, Pato then in the 40′ minute made it 3-2, Ronaldinho found the net as well in the 62′ minute, and Nene sealed the game in the 69′ minute to make it 4-3 after 90 minutes.

Cagliari do not have really something to fight for. They are correctly lying on the 12th place in Serie A with 40 points out of 31 matches – safe from a possible relegation to Serie B at the end of the season.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men have done pretty good all along the campaign, and with just seven matches until the season ends, the Sardinia side can be relax, and play for pride, with no stress or tension.

The Isolani drew last week with Sampdoria, from a late goal scored by Nene. This was, however, despite the no-stress thing – their seventh league game without a victory; five were lost, two were drawn.

Cagliari are pretty strong in front of their own crown – managed to win seven games, draw four and loss four in Stadio Sant’Elia.

Something has been going in Milan of late. The Rossoneri haven’t picked the all three points since March 14, when they beat ChievoVerona is stoppage time, with a lot of luck in the shot of Clarence Seedorf.

It’s hard to say what is wrong right now at Milan – whether it’s the number of the absences, who is so highly in very rare times, or it the Coach, or the way the Coach places the team, or the team itself.

But, one thing is sure – Milan lost it. Right now, Milan are third in Serie A with 60 points out of 31 matches, three points behind leaders Inter and two points behind second-place sitters A.S. Roma.

The Rossoneri must recover this hard time and they know they could – they have super-experienced players which can help a lot in these situations, and have a nice and offensive way of play – so what is wrong?

Maybe we’ll never know – until the victories will be easy again, and what it called – ‘easy goals’ will arrive too. Milan will be trying to win outside on Saturday. Their away record stands at 7 wins, 5 draws and 3 losses.
