AC Milan-S.S. Lazio: Time To Bounce Back

AC MILAN are hosting S.S. LAZIO on Sunday night, when the clock strikes 8.45 in Stadio San Siro, as Milan know that another drop of points would see them out of the Scudetto race.

Milan look in a crisis, especially for that game. The Rossoneri have lost their last Serie A match on Wednesday, and the title hopes are getting smaller every day now, as Roma and Inter full the sails in wind again.

Lazio have been doing very good of late and might be a problem to such an AC Milan, as they will be looking to gain points in order to escape the relegation zone and continue the good form they have lately.

In the last time the two sides faced each other, Thiago Silva scored a brace (one for each side – first for Milan, 21′ minute and then for Lazio, 65′ minute) and Alexandre Pato (35′ minute) to make it 1-2 at the final whistle.

Things aren’t going on so well for Milan. It looks like with the injuries of Alessandro Nesta, Alexandre Pato & David Beckham, the Rossoneri find it very very hard to create an attack, as Ronaldinho is off form lately.

March 24 v Parma (A) – LOST 1-0 (Serie A)

March 21 v Bari (A) – DREW 1-1 (Serie A)

March 14 v Atalanta (H) – WON 1-0 (Serie A)

March 7 v Siena (A) – DREW 1-1 (Serie A)

February 28 v Sampdoria (H) – WON 1-0 (Serie A)

Milan have barely beaten Chievo on week 28, and then went through a 1-1 draw with Napoli. This Wednesday Milan went down a 0-1 defeat to Parma FC, and with that, hopefully an alarm bell was rang in the via Turati club.

It might be a crisis at Milan right now. The chances of winning the Scudetto seem to get low every match now, and the Rossoneri must overcome with a great performance that brings a good result as well.

This is a great chance for il Diavolo to open a three-point gap from Roma/get closer to Inter again with only one point separating/be two points off-Inter & Roma, as there is a match between Roma to Inter on Saturday.

But, Milan need to focus only on themselves, and it wouldn’t be easy to defeat a revived Lazio in this kind of a bad momentum and not a good form really. But, Milan will do everything that is necessary.

NEWS: Beckham, Onyewu, Nesta, Pato, Bonera, Mancini and Kaladze are out; Ronaldinho and Pirlo are suspended. Dominic Adiyiah, Rodney Strasser and Simone Romagnoli from the youth will be on the bench.

Lazio seem finally to discover themselves – it arrived late, but it’s better late than never. With two consecutive victories of 2-0, once away and once in front of their own crowd, the Aquile will be looking for the third.

March 24 v Siena (H) – WON 2-0 (Serie A)

March 21 v Cagliari (A) – WON 2-0 (Serie A)

March 14 v Bari (H) – LOST 2-0 (Serie A)

March 7 v Sampdoria (A) – LOST 2-1 (Serie A)

February 27 v Fiorentina (H) – DREW 1-1 (Serie A)

At a point this season, it seemed impossible for Lazio to gain points against Milan, but with the momentum of each side, nothing is impossible. The visitors will try to take advantage over the improvised Milan line-up.

Edy Reja men have fought hard to get out of the relegation zone, and now there are out of the risk, as four points above the danger-zone. They are correctly 17th in Serie A with 32 points from 30 matches.

Playing at the San Siro is never easy. The Biancocelesti have lost six times away, drew six times as well and won three times, while Milan won 10 games at home, lost twice and drew three times.

NEWS: Matuzalem, Bizzarri, Manfredini and Inzaghi are all out with injuries, while Foggia, Lichtsteiner, Baronio, Rocchi, Floccari and Ledesma are said to be struggling with injuries.

Without very important players, Milan will try to achieve all the three points as it’s a must, and against Lazio, it wouldn’t be so easy. Time to come back on the right track and show positive performance and remind the press, the fans and themselves, why they deserve to play for the Scudetto. AC Milan 2-1  S.S. Lazio

INTER MUST LOSE! Forza Milan! It is not impossible, hard, buy doable!

Without those key players it will be super-hard. But, we have enough players and good players to win the match. Lazio look to find the right momentum and they are coming off two victories. Milan must defeat them. Let’s hope Roma beat Inter and Milan beat Lazio so the race for the Scudetto will be open again.
