DAVID BECKHAM will rejoin AC Milan on December 28, and RossoneriBlog’s Meytar Zeevi examines the situation and sees if they are really no-room for more players, like they claim at Via Turati.
With the special atmosphere of the Christmas, the Rossoneri will welcome back Beckham. The English man is desperate to impress England Coach Fabio Capello, even though Capello has already made it clear to him – he will be only in use as a sub player. However, ‘Becks does not really care, as long as he wears England shirt again.
Beckham enjoyed a good season with L.A. Galaxy but it ended bad when the Americans finished second after lost in the final of the MLS play-offs. David now trains with his side but already said that he is waiting for Milan return, told he’s “counting down the days”, as he believes that Milan “can claim the Scudetto.”
Much is really depends on Beckham this year at AC Milan. Adriano Galliani claims that Dominic Adiyiah and David Beckham are the only transfers that we be made during winter transfer season – but are they enough? Ghana squad includes Adiyiah and before his foot comes into Milanello, he will leave to help his team already in January to win Africa Cup of Nations, he would return, probably injured.
Becks, therefore, he will be the only fresh player that arrives to AC Milan. The 34-year-old is not a kid anymore and he said that the game-pressure does not scare him whatsoever, especially in a World Cup year like this one, when players play over 50 matches a year. The former United midfielder has the right experience and talent but his age could be a little problematic for Leonardo’s Milan.
Back to the transfer market, reports suggest Milan are after attackers, such as Goran Pandev of Lazio and Luca Toni of Bayern Munich. Galliani quashed it when claiming Milan have three strikers all ready. Those three strikers (Marco Borriello, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Filippo Inzaghi) have not reached their toll this year, in particular after the leaving of Kaka.
Milan believe that Beckham could be Kaka, but they forget the required speed, aggression and wellness that English super star maybe lacks. Milan bring Beckham only for his crosses. This is no secret that Milan’s crosses and through-balls are a mess. David Beckham, as sees in the video above, is a free-kicks maestro, he is very exact and has good power in the shoot, but then, it asked, where can he play at Milan…
il Diavolo play 4-2-1-3 or 4-2-3-1 if you’d like. Four in defense, two in midfielder, one attacking midfielder, two forwards that play has wingers and one center attacker. No, the defensive role is very dynamic and Beckham is not fit there. In the midfield, Leonardo lines up Andrea Pirlo and Massimo Ambrosini/Gennaro Gattuso. Pirlo is AC Milan’s playmaker but his exact in crosses are lacking this term, while Milan would not put out the captain.
For that, Beckham has only two options of playing spot, two that he maybe would not be fit at first. The Rossoneri brought Adiyiah as a replacement for Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato. Galliani said that a striker would arrive only in the summer so that leaves Becks will a space as wing-man. Beckham is not fast, has never been actually, but this could be also perfect for his crosses to the heads or the center strikers. Beckham already said that his crosses would make Huntelaar much better.
The second option is in Clarence Seedorf’s attacking midfielder role. Seedorf has been in good shape this season but tries to often to shoot from distance instead of pass or cross well. Leonardo would maybe use David instead of the Dutch midfielder in order to cerate more arranged attackers.
Leo also counts on Beck’s experience in Champions League matches. David will play with AC Milan against his former side, Manchester United this season in the eight finals of the CL. It will be an emotional game for Beckham who according to United will get a warm and fantastic reception at the second leg of the match when the Italians arrive to Old Trafford.
David Beckham will be special at Milan, and has the will to prove himself in order to get more minutes in the World Cup. Becks is a huge, an icon, but first, if he really wants to leave his mark on someone once again, he must find space in AC Milan’s well-planned line-up.
