AC Milan 0 – Inter Milan 2, Derby played like Friendly

In the final clash of “World Football Challenge”, Inter striker sent two balls into the net, in the Derby D’Italia against AC Milan today in Boston, USA

That’s it, the tournament is over, the World Football Challenge is sealed today as the Rossoneri taking the last place, after lost to Club America 2-1, against Chelsea it was another defeated, and today against Inter, in a repulsive match for both of them, Inter got their first win and the only in the tournament.

Crowd of 42,531 saw this game from the stadium, in Chelsea clash the stadium might been bigger but not all the tickets were sold out for this match.71000 fans were crowded in Milan-Chelsea, but this is probably less interesting. {IT WAS MUCH LESS INTERESTING}

Missing from the Milan lineup were Clarence Seedorf, who injured his leg on Friday night; Filippo Inzaghi; and the team’s two goalkeepers, these are the line-ups of both teams before the game:

AC Milan – Kalac; Zambrotta, Onyewu, Thiago Silva, Jankulovski; Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini; Ronaldinho; Borriello, Pato

Inter Milan – Julio Cesar; Maicon, Lucio, Chivu, Zanetti; Muntari, Cambiasso, Thiago Motta; Stankovic; Balotelli, Milito

The game started in 12am (00.00 – local time), and I’ve seen the most of it [it took me about 10 minutes to find a good internet-transmission]. We know it has labeled as a match between pals, but COME ON, this match was very boring for me and for my older brother. This is the Derby d’Italia, not workplace-league.

Already before I find the Chinese transmission on the net (which I saw the most of the game through), I saw Diego goal. The transmission wasn’t good so I saw a part here and a part there from the goal that was scored by former Genoa star Diego Millito:

Millito put the Black & Blue in front when ran into the edge of the penalty area following a long ball sent from Esteban Cambiasso and with combination of bad defense, bad goalkeeper and nice shot, he made it 1-0 to the Nerazzurri.

The game continued and Milan side didn’t really do anything with the ball, not even one real chance in the minutes that were after Millito’s break through. But Inter, who were more dominant during the most of the game, with a combination of attack-defense-midfielder, just “sat” on Milan goal and tried to score.

When there were 30 minutes on the stand board, Milan midfielder Ronaldinho fell close to the 20-yard-open-space, but the ball that was taken by the Brazilian found itself just sailed over the bar. On 34, Dinho absorbed a yellow card, which was red at the first place, one of the funnies moment football knows.

Leonardo made two changes on the break, showed Borriello and Pirlo their sits on the bench, and told Ignazio Abate and Gianmarco Zigoni to dress up and get into this game in order to give those two players a chance to play.

Milan were close to score when Ronaldinho unleashed a shot toward Inter keeper Julio Cesar, but he saved that right when the second half began. The match continued to be better for Inter, when Sulley Muntari had two chances to make it two for Inter but the attempts failed.

Inter’s second goal proved it’s wrong. It’s wrong to put Kalac in the goal in such of event against Inter. I could have saved it better. Following unsuccessful corner of Milan, Stankovic ran until the middle and sent the ball to Millito who did the rest, the ball hit Kalac leg but he scored.

Substituted Nesta tried to score from the edge of the box when the clock was in injury-time, but his attempt was saved easily. THAT IS IT, the match is over with the result Diego Millito 2 – AC Milan 0.

The World Football Challenge is over when Milan are in the bottom of the table with three defeats from three games but picked up two points for scoring two goals. City rivals Inter finished three, with a draw, a win and a loss and seven points in total.

Poor tournament for Milan but it’s good to lose sometimes. Chelsea win the tournament with three wins, America take second place.

Although there’s a good point in this game and hilarious moment, I still think Milan could do better. This is a poor result and the game was not very interesting for both teams. It supposed to be about hate and show competitiveness, but of the clubs did not show neither this nor this.

AC Milan – Kalac; Zambrotta (63′ Oddo), Onyewu (63′ Nesta), Thiago Silva, Jankulovski (63′ Antonini); Gattuso (68′ Flamini), Pirlo (45′ Abate), Ambrosini; Ronaldinho (68′ Oduamadi); Borriello (45′ Zigoni), Pato

Top of the match

AC Milan – Ronaldinho and Pato were the best on the pitch but it wasn’t so hard to ‘win’ this honor at this game because the most of the team didn’t play well enough. Ronaldinho seems ready to get his confidence back, while Pato starts to do tricks and cerate his own chances.

Inter Milan – Absolutely Milito. Scoring twice in this game and was the most attractive player on the pitch. Milan and all the Italian teams must watch out from this guy because I think they found someone to take Zlatan position. Digeo was Inter’s no. 1 on the pitch, though the defense and keeper helped somewhat.

Leonardo is failing in the fourth time today, haven’t won even one time so as far. But he blames the crazy schedule who made Milan to play three matches in one week while Inter played only one time since last Tuesday. “To play a match every two days is impossible,” AC Milan manager Leonardo said.

“I think you have a lot of problems with injuries. It’s not easy to manage,” he said.

“For me, there’s no such thing as a friendly game,” said defender Oguchi Onyewu, the first American ever to play for Milan. “I don’t go out there hoping to lose, or expecting to lose. I go out there trying to give it my all.”

“This is preseason. It shouldn’t be a precursor to anything,” Onyewu added. “By no means is this a reflection of how the games are going to go during the season.”

Inter’s Diego Millito who scored two goals said, “Certainly the focus will be on league play. But I want to help the team do well, and to honor the shirt that wearing every time I put it on.”
