Sacchi: Milan Are Not Living Up Their Potential

Arrigo Sacchi

ARRIGO SACCHI believes that Milan problem is mental and the players does not fulfill what they really have inside of them, while next weekend Rossoneri’s opponent Roma have what it takes to reach at least the season place this year.

AC Milan will face off A.S. Roma on Sunday night. A match between two teams that couldn’t implement the entire player’s potential despite have a squad builds of many champions.

Roma were last after two rounds, but soon replaced their coach as now the place in 8th place with 11 points, while AC Milan are now in the 12th place, reached only nine points.

The former Milan boss, Sacchi, who won the Serie A, the Italian Super Cup, European Cup twice, and the European Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup, believes that the mental issues are the main problems of the Rossoneri.

“Milan are paying for a drop from the top – there is less self-esteem,” he explained to Radio Radio. “There is no determination and this means they are not living up to their potential.

As for Milan opponents, Roma, Sacchi has bigger plans for them, as he thinks that they can reach the second place of the Serie A this term.

“[Roma] are winning but they have not solved all their problems yet. It will be an open game in which anything can happen, although Roma give you a few more guarantees.

“Roma’s technical potential is not inferior to that of Juventus. Their problem is similar to Milan’s. If you have an enthusiastic, patient team who have planned everything well then you will do well, otherwise things will go badly.

“If the Giallorossi players are professional, and they have fewer injuries, I would say that Roma can play for second place. Too many injuries are the fault of the medical staff, players who are unprofessional or an inappropriate type of training. But I would exclude the last reason.”
