PAOLO MALDINI has revealed that he has been considering a return in another role at AC Milan, after his play-years ended.

The legendary captain finished 24.5 years of playing with AC Milan, after came into the first team in age of 16. Maldini is a real Milan symbol, but he decided that this is enough, when he’s 41.

Before retried, Maldini said that he wouldn’t be a coach, like his father, in the future. However, reports in Italy emerged that the former Italian international could return in the director role.

Speaking to La 7 Gold, Maldini said that he has still much to offer for AC Milan, and if there is anything he can do – they should know that he’s ready. The former centre-back/left-back said:

“I gave plenty and received a lot and I feel so much love for the Milan colours. It goes beyond the people who work there.”

“If there is the chance to do something positive that will help this team then I will always be there. My life has always been without other roles on the side, and I want to continue like that.

“The team have great pride and they are capable of always giving a moment of important emotions.”

Milan started the season bad, but things are different now, as Milan have recently extended their unbeaten title to seven games, following the Champions League draw against Real Madrid.

“We are going through a good period because the team has found consistency in the Champions League and in Serie A. They know how to play football,” added Maldini.

“The Champions League? I think Barcelona are the strongest team, but my friend [Carlo] Ancelotti’s Chelsea are well equipped.”

Will Maldini return as a director at Milan or these are only rumors – the time is the only one to tell…

I can see him as a director. He will add confidence for the young players, as well as the veterans who played with him.

  2. Goj says:

He has nothing to do but football. I believe that owns some clubs and bars, but football is his life. He’s important for Milan and will do everything for them! FORZA MALDINI!

If Ronaldinho gets even better, than Milan are favorites too in my opinion. They are look like champs again. Forza Milan! Forza Maldini!
