INJURIES woe is not as worth as expected, as Milan Coach Leonardo revealed on Saturday that Alexandre Pato, Gianluca Zambrotta and Clarence Seedorf have small problems.

The squad of Leonardo sees six players out, three of them are important for ordinary function of the team – Seedorf (attacking midfielder), Zambrotta (left back), Pato (right winger). But, Milan played well also without them.

Milan crushed Genoa on Wednesday, without those players, but Leonardo now said that he must reconsider his options against Juventus on Sunday, as he doesn’t want to hurt the fitness of his players.

“The injuries of Pato, Zambrotta and Seedorf are minor ones, which we will evaluate day by day, hour after hour,” he told the press in a pre-conference.

“The conditions of Zambrotta and Seedorf have improved a lot in these days. Pato instead, still feels a bit of pain and we must be sure about his conditions before fielding him.

“For the formation I will field against Juventus, I must still evaluate many small things and today’s last training session will be useful for this regard. Pirlo will be in doubt until the last minute. Just like Beckham.

“The English player did not play for a month, when he arrived at Milanello he had a small preparation.

“Also Gattuso played on Wednesday evening against Genoa his first game of 90 minutes after a long time. I will have to evaluate also these small things.”

The Brazilian Coach then extended words on David Beckham. The veteran midfielder has joined Milan on loan from L.A. Galaxy, and played instead of Pato against Genoa, and did a very good job there.

“Knowing the player, I knew that his acclimatization inside the squad would have been positive. For us he’s an important resource: he gives us the possibility to manage our squad in a different way.

“Beckham, during his career, has made an important path.

“He has always expressed his will of returning to the national team and for a coach I think this is an important sign.

“Also the way in which he is playing will surely influence on his call-up with the English national team.”
