MILAN legendary 6 Franco Baresi and the Rossoneri’s midfielder Mathieu Flamini have made their say, separately, over the defeat against Udinese.
It an ugly and very unlucky night to il Diavolo, who were better than the Zebrette during all the evening, but once again, ball possession does not bring three points, unless you have also a sharp attack, which Milan had, but the ball refused to go inside the net.
While Inter Milan and Juventus, the Rossoneri’s biggest Serie A competitors take the first and the second place in the league, Milan are now lying over the 11th place, with 8 points, and will try to find a third win this season versus Bari, on Sunday.
AC Milan former defender Baresi believes Milan cannot let the Nerazzuri and the Old Lady to be in front of them, as they are need to stay in focus and reduce the game that has been made so far in league, after five rounds only.
“It’s a shame about the loss to Udinese, but we have to try and keep up with Juventus and Inter, who are in front of us,” Baresi told Milannews.it. “We are only at the beginning, but we need to find continuity. The most consistent teams are favourites, but Milan will have their say on the matter.”
Milan’s correct midfielder, Flamini, was sent off in the final minutes, right when Milan were in the ascendancy against Udinese, but now, he’s disappointed for losing this game, to a side who was not better than his team.
“It’s true that we always want to win every game, because we are playing for Milan who are a great club,” Flamini told Sky Italia. “It’s not easy [at the moment] but the important thing is to stay together and find the solution.
“I have a lot of confidence in this squad, as I’ve always said. It’s a shame about yesterday because we had 75 per cent of the possession, but we did not get a goal. The most important thing is to stick with each other and to be focused on our next game [against Bari].”
Milan have a busy week, starting from Bari on Sunday at San Siro and then FC Zurich in Champions League on Wednesday.
