FRANCO BARESI has talked up Milan, as saying that he believes the Rossoneri can overwhelm Inter Milan this year, but the battle will be tough until the end of the season.

Milan are correctly second in the standing of the Serie A, four points from league-leaders and Italy champions Inter Milan. Baresi believes everything is now possible, but the crown of the champions will be down to the last minute.

“The win in stoppage time against Fiorentina has been very important and right now Inter have to look with greater attention at Milan and not Roma,” Baresi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Milan will not give up until the end, of that I am sure. In the last few months Milan have changed gear and it has happened above all thanks to its attacking potential, which is enormous.”

The former defender, and legendary no. 6, then spoke of Pato. He is one of the best strikers around, and only at the age of 20, has a vital part at Milan. Franco thinks Brazil Coach Dunga need to take him to WC.

“I have to mention Pato here,” he said. You can’t disregard a talent of his nature. Dunga should think again ahead of the World Cup.

“Pato has incredible quality and the goal he scored in Florence is the latest demonstration of his worth.

“Sure, there is support from Ronaldinho who is doing extraordinary things and has returned to the highest level. But I am looking more towards the young players.

“Pato and Balotelli should be protected in every way because the people who watch football get enthusiastic when they see tricks, fantasia and talent,” he concluded.
