CHRISTIAN ABBIATI is sure that AC Milan will win the Serie A this season and take over Inter, like they did to Lazio back in the Nineties.

The Rossoneri have the chance to takeover Inter Milan and claim first place and 18th Scudetto this season, as they are only four points behind them following a comeback victory over Fiorentina on Wednesday.

Inter have been winning the Italian title for four season straight now, but this year it seems like AC Milan and A.S. Roma have the chance to overpower them in the race for the title. Milan keeper, Abbiati, is sure Milan will do it.

“I’m sure Milan will win the Scudetto,” he told Tuttosport newspaper. “This season reminds me of that which led to the title we won in 1999 with [Alberto] Zaccheroni as our boss.”

In this season, which Abbiati talked about, the Rossoneri won the Serie A despite having a seven-point gap from Lazio. A great comeback from Zaccheroni side brought Milan the title.

Christian, who just claimed back his starting place in goal, added: “Back then I also claimed a starting place midway through the season. So, I believe in the Scudetto…”
