Fabio Borini said Milan ‘know what we have to do’ in the Coppa Italia final after scoring against Hellas Verona.

Borini entered the pitch yesterday in the 57′ minute to replace Suso and got on the scoresheet in the 89′ minute to make it 4-1 to the Rossoneri and send Hellas Verona back to Serie B.

“Scoring is always nice, and when you have less minutes available it’s even more so,” the summer signing told MilanTV.

“We had the right mentality and desired and we wanted to put the game to bed as soon as possible to control it and start thinking about Wednesday’s match. Three days are not few and we are used to it. Juventus are always hungry, they showed it in the league and also in the Champions League where they gave it all and lost at the last second. We will have to be even hungrier than them.

“We know what we have to do, the coach will know what to do, we must be attentive, and we have to be careful of their clinical-ness, and we will have to avoid giving them chances to score.”

Speaking to Sky Italia, the 27-year-old added: “My performance? It’s one of my characteristics to always give everything, it’s perhaps also taken from the English Premium League. It’s not easy to always be ready but you train for it. What is my role [Borini was used as fullback, wingback and winger this season]? Winger is one of my ideal roles, I can attack the goal and I can try a bit more.

“The Coppa final? Milan-Juve is always an even match, we both arrive in good condition. We didn’t think about the final, there was a match before that and we had to separate the two games. Now we have three days to prepare, we know their strengths and we will try to limit them.”

In the mixed-zone: “The final? We will have to go there with a spirit ‘da Milan’ and minimize errors. Preparing for matches against the big sides is easier, but we are Milan and we must always win.”
