Patrick Cutrone dedicated one of his two goals to Andrea Conti and said he is already focused on Ludogorets.
Milan beat S.P.A.L 2013 4-0 on Saturday afternoon thanks to two goals from Patrick Cutrone, one from Lucas Biglia and another one from Fabio Borini.
Cutrone netted his first after less than 2 minutes and then doubled the lead of the Rossoneri in the 65′ minute, scoring two Inzaghi-esque goals. Patrick reached 12 seasonal goals in all competitions and many people believe that he should be the starting striker of Rino Gattuso.
“I hope to continue like this, but above all for Milan to win, then after that I’ll think about myself,” he told Sky. “We are thinking game after game, we set goals for ourselves. But now we have to start focusing on the Europa League, as there’s a very important game coming up on Thursday.
“Goals dedications? I dedicate one goal to my family and the other to Conti, who said before kick-off that I’d score a brace. Comparisons to Inzaghi? He was one of the best strikers in Milan’s history and I have a great deal of respect for him. If you ask me the current striker I like the most, I’d say Belotti.
“Vincenzo Montella and Gattuso? I owe a lot to [former Milan coach] Montella, as he launched my career, but also to Gattuso, who is playing me consistently. I am trying to repay him in the best way. Our rapport is great, I always listen to the coach and like the way he fires me up before a game.”
Speaking to Mediaset Premium, Cutrone added: “We knew it was going to be a difficult match and straight after my opening goal, we struggled under pressure. We did well to resist and like a great team find a way to kill off the game. Who do I dedicate the goals to? The first goal to Conti, I hope he returns to the field soon; the second goal to the whole team, the credit for my goals is theirs.
“If we still believe in the Champions League? We have to concentrate one game at a time and the next thing is the Europa League: we want to move forward in Europe.”
In his interview with MilanTV, the 20-year-old striker, who grew up in the Youth Sector of the Rossoneri said: “I’m happy for the brace and above all for the win. Today we were a real team and it was essential to get the three points. Inzaghi? These comparisons are great, but it is soon to be compared to him, I’m happy that you talk of me in such ways, I always followed him as a kid.
“Suso’s assists? I have a good understanding with Suso and Çalhanoğlu on the pitch, I have a broad understanding with everyone. The game? Scoring an early goal helped us, we did it well, although we suffered afterwards. Then, in the second half we kept the ball to ourselves and scored three.
“Our goal now is to focus on Thursday, it’s an away match we need to win.” After the match against Ludogorets in the Europa League (where André Silva will probably start), Milan host Sampdoria.
