Davide Calabria was happy to play the Derby della Madonnina as a starter for the first time and said ‘we have to continue towards our objective.’
When Calabria left the pitch in the 81′ minute (subbed for Lucas Ocampos), the Rossoneri were trailing by two goals against Inter. But at the end of the match the 20-year-old fullback got to celebrate, as his teammates fought back and achieved a very dramatic 2-2 draw, thanks to a 97′-minute goal from Cristian Zapata.
“What a thrilling game! I’m still excited,” Calabria told MilanTV at the end of the encounter at San Siro. “Equalizing like this, scoring at the last gasp was something unbelievable and unhoped-for. We are really happy for Zapata. Actually, we’re all happy, it’s going to be a more relaxed Easter.
“We were under a lot of pressure, it wasn’t easy but we’re happy with the performance and the result. It was a spectacular derby. We mustn’t underestimate the next game but we have to confirm our positive period of form and continue towards our objective.
“My performance? It was exciting playing as starter in the derby. My aim is to be part of the future of Milan, I’m improving day after day and I’m really satisfied.”
