Gerard Deulofeu’s move to Milan has proven to be fruitful on a personal level for him as he receives a call from the Spain national team for the upcoming break; nothing for Suso who could’ve been called-up for the first time.

The injury of Giacomo Bonaventura (out until the end of the season) sent Deulofeu straight to the starting XI of the Rossoneri and the 23-year-old, who joined in January from Everton on loan, has been producing good results and he has in his record one goal and three assists in 9 appearances.

Due to his good form, Spain boss Julen Lopetegui has decided to call-up ‘Geri’ for the upcoming matches against Israel (March 24, World Cup Qualifiers Group Stage match, 20:45 CET kickoff) and against France (March 28, friendly, 21:00 CET).

Deulofeu will be at Stadio San Siro tomorrow night for Milan’s match with Genoa (you can buy Serie A tickets on https://www.footballticketpad.com/) but will afterwards meet the likes of Sergio Ramos, Andres Iniesta and Diego Costa in the Spain get-together. He won’t see there Suso, however, as the player, who’s been instrumental for Milan this season, is out for a few weeks through injury. Milannews.it suggests that if it wasn’t for the injury then the excellent winger would also get a spot.

Lopetegui explained in his presser today that since Deulofeu is in Milan, he is playing and is ‘central’ to the team. Carlos Bacca has also been called-up by Colombia and he’s already left to join them.
