MARCO AMELIA has attracted interest in Torino and Monaco and talks could open when Milan return from the USA.
It seems that Milan have decided to make Gabriel the second-choice goalkeeper (Christian Abbiati is still the starting goalie) and Marco Amelia could be on the move as he’s unlikely to accept the solution of him being the 3rd-choice at Milan.
Amelia made just 35 appearances in his three seasons at Milan and could decide to move this summer (there were rumours that he would terminate his contract) and it seems that two clubs have a serious interest in the 31-year-old Italian.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri has identified Amelia as a possible candidate for the goalkeeper position. It’s reported that the two clubs could begin negotiations about the player as soon as the squad (and Galliani) return from the United States tour later this week. Monaco haven’t yet officially contacted Milan regarding Amelia.
Another team that is interested in Amelia, as reported by Gazzetta (and previously also by Milannews.it and TMW), is Torino. However, Amelia’s €1.5m salary is a problem for the Turin club. If he goes Milan will probably bring a 3rd-choice keeper.
