MARCO AMELIA has attracted interest in Torino and Monaco and talks could open when Milan return from the USA.

It seems that Milan have decided to make Gabriel the second-choice goalkeeper (Christian Abbiati is still the starting goalie) and Marco Amelia could be on the move as he’s unlikely to accept the solution of him being the 3rd-choice at Milan.

Amelia made just 35 appearances in his three seasons at Milan and could decide to move this summer (there were rumours that he would terminate his contract) and it seems that two clubs have a serious interest in the 31-year-old Italian.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri has identified Amelia as a possible candidate for the goalkeeper position. It’s reported that the two clubs could begin negotiations about the player as soon as the squad (and Galliani) return from the United States tour later this week. Monaco haven’t yet officially contacted Milan regarding Amelia.

Another team that is interested in Amelia, as reported by Gazzetta (and previously also by Milannews.it and TMW), is Torino. However, Amelia’s €1.5m salary is a problem for the Turin club. If he goes Milan will probably bring a 3rd-choice keeper.

  1. Sell.
Probably Antonini can leave too to Fenerbahçe, and maybe later Traore, Nocerino, and Urby can attract suitors.

I know that Milan will be just fine next season and will not settle without a fight. Forza Milan! Scuddetto, Coppa, CL here we come.

  2. Looking at theirs qualities, can Ljajic play ahead of Niang? In that 3 man midfield which position suit best Cristante? When Honda arrives, then it would Honda, Elsha and Balo upfront. How then we develop Niang, Saponara, Ljajic and Petagna too their full potential? How about this for backline Urby-Pacifico-Zapata-De Sciglio? keeping mind that this will improve our crossings.

  3. Small baby steps, but we are moving in the right direction…

To be honest im more interested in gettting rid of dead weight than signing new players… These players occupy space and money that they dont deserve… The amount salary we are paying these guys, we can easily buy one or two good players from those money… Lets spend wisely, and i believe we are…

If Allegri can roll his sleeves up, i think with one ore two signings we can really fight with big guns…

I rather see a kid from the primavera play, than these useless players…

Sign good players, promote primavera players… If we dont have the money to buy big stars, lets create them…

    Forza Milan…

  4. I dont know how they become interested in him!! I cannot remember a game he played and either we lost or conceded at least two goals!!

  5. Niang should be loaned out. Get rid of bonera antonini and traore first. Maybe we should blow thier houses up .

  6. This is a good thing monaco will obviously overpay amelia we can get atleast £ 4 mil out of him than i read an article saying that antonini probably joining besiktas for £ 1 mil and thats good after selling them we can sell that below mediocre player traore and zaccardo, use the money to buy other quality players

  7. I think Amelia can go considering he has not commanded confidence in Mila. I am not sure though if Gabriel is ready.

  8. Sell to Monaco, they will overpay:)
On the other hand who will we sign as 3rd choice guys? Any suggestions?

  9. Sell Amelia and get Atalanta goalkeeper Andrea Consigli for our 1st choice goalie! He is really good! The best choice in my opinion!

  10. sel amelia,….even dou he is injured…i think we shud buy krul of newcastle…promote 1 of our young goalies 4 dis season…next season…krul nd gabriel wuld b first nd second choice respectively
