Update: MILAN WILL have to deal without Montolivo in the next four games as Monty has suffered a thigh injury.
Bad news for the Rossoneri as star midfielder Montolivo will be sidelined in the next weeks and will miss the rest of the current season which will decide if Milan will be in the Champions League next season or in the Europa League.
Montolivo has been one of the best players this season for Milan as he makes the difference from them from the side-midfielder or defensive-midfielder role and he’s the only real creative player among those who’re available in midfield.
“Tests have revealed that Riccardo Montolivo has a problem with his right biceps femoris muscle. Further tests will be carried out to determine the extent of the problem,” Milan confirmed through an official statement on their website today. La Gazzetta dello Sport initially reported he’ll be out for 2 games but the player will miss all the next four games (Update).
Massimiliano Allegri could decide to place Sulley Muntari in the DMF role and perhaps move Kevin-Prince Boateng back to midfield. Luca Antonini and Christian Abbiati trained normally today and are fit for the Torino game, like Giampaolo Pazzini.
